With multiple crises spiraling out of control around the world, stories about the Obama presidency are taking on the air of postmortems. What went wrong, who’s to blame, what next — even The New York Times is starting to recognize that Dear Leader is a global flop.
“Obama Suffers Setbacks in Japan and the Mideast,” the paper declared on Friday’s front page. The double whammy of failure pushed the growing Russian menace in ¬Europe to inside pages, but even they were chock-full of reports about utopia gone wrong.

A black marine who sides with Nevada cattle rancher Cliven Bundy in his dispute with the BLM has posted a diatribe on Facebook defending Bundy’s comments and slamming the corporate media’s coverage as a race baiting distortion designed to create social division.
In his missive, a marine going by the handle Charlie Delta blames the “liberal media” for attempting to paint Bundy as a racist, and says he himself has also wondered “the same about the decline of the black family.”
When asked if he found Mr. Bundy’s comments offensive, six-year Army veteran Jason Bullock replied, “Mr. Bundy is not a racist. Ever since I’ve been here, he’s treated me with nothing but hospitality. He’s pretty much treating me just like his own family.”
“I would take a bullet for that man if need be. I look up to him just like I do my own grandfather,” Bullock stated. “I believe in his cause and after having met Mr. Bundy a few times, I have a really good feel about him and I’m a pretty good judge of character.”

We can only hope the media “turns” on the Current Occupant now squatting in the White Hut. They may support a palace revolution, but almost all the current cast of characters will remain on stage, and remain assured of a hearty endorsement from the same “Americans in name only” that gave us the state of decay starting with January 2007. It just took them a little longer to complete their coup, in January 2009, but the deck was already stacked. There was a voting majority of Democrats (or independents pretending they were not Democrats) in both the House of Representatives and the Senate in Bush’s last two years in the White House, and they effectively stymied almost every initiative by the Bush Administration.
