Retired archbishop Desmond Tutu has said he is happy Nelson Mandela is deadso he does not have to see what South Africas current leaders are doing to the country.
Since Jacob Zuma became president, Tutu has become increasingly critical of the African National Congress (ANC), which has held power in South Africa since the end of apartheid in 1994first under the leadership of Mandela.
I didnt think there would be a disillusionment so soon, he told South Africas Sunday Times, before adding: Im glad that Madiba is dead. Im glad that most of these people are no longer alive to see this, referring to the slow pace of transformation.

Well, I’d say it was more complicated than that. The Boer War was pretty nasty on both sides.
All I know is odds are, South Africa would be much better off today had the Boers prevailed and kicked the Brits out.
