Inspired by the possibility of a Sarah Palin presidential run, Peter Singleton moved to this suburban community from California in November 2010 and booked an extended stay at the Days Inn on 114th Street. Palin was a tea party queen-maker at the time, and true believers like Singleton could sense a bid for the White House. For the next 10 months, he traversed his adopted state on her behalf, rallying Iowans to the cause.
But there would be no second political act for Palin, and these days many followers like Singleton have moved on. He said Friday at an ice cream social at nearby Faith Baptist Bible College that he still admires the former Alaska governor and follows her on Facebook, but, politically, she holds little sway over him. Singleton didnt even bother to attend Palins Sunday afternoon speech a short drive from here because he disagreed with her endorsement in Iowas Republican Senate primary.
Its one of those things, Singleton said, sticking his hands into the pockets of his leather jacket. I have great respect for her, but this isnt about a person, its about a set of principles and values.

Sarah Palin has done more to move the GOP to the right than anyone else in politics today, and her endorsements are probably the biggest part of that, for instance Ted Cruz.
Palin has helped place many dozens of Senators, Governors and congressmen in office, and helped make the GOP right, bolder and stronger.
The media are already looking past Hillary to - guess who? - Chelsea. Yesterday at the supermarket I saw a magazine - one I was not familiar with - featuring a cover story on Chelsea, complete with teasers and rhetorical questions like: Her big plans; She’s next; Laying the foundations of an empire. Those aren’t exact quotes, but it was stuff like that, slobbering, hero-worshipping stuff.
It is up to her what she makes of herself now. She could reach for greatness, and indeed she just might seize it if she tried. Or she could remain a commentator. It really is up to her.
We have a surfeit of commentators and entertainers.
Leaders are thin on the ground.
Thousands of stories about Palin’s “diminished status” prove that she has a diminished status... only in the liberal mind would this make sense.
Another example that leftists (by any name) simply lack intellectual gravitas to grasp reality.
The Post is trying to call the kettle black ,,, now isn’t that racist ??? Who’s really on shaky ground here ??? It ain’t Sarah !!!!!

“Palin has helped place many dozens of Senators, Governors and congressmen in office, and helped make the GOP right, bolder and stronger.”
You mean like John McCain, Jeff Flake and Kelly Ayotte? Oh and now backing Karen Handel in GA. I’m still laughing.
fiat that all what you say is is true. It does not matter to me greatly, the old saw about kitchens and heat comes to mind.
note the option to coutner claim in court is and was an option. That he State of Alaska changed the rules for sitting gov’s after says a lot too.
But ultimately for me, leaving instead of fighting is not a good feature in a political figure.
My sentiments about everything are always on display. :-)
You would have to be pretty ignorant, or have a strange agenda to ignore her many endorsements from Cruz to Martinez, to Rubio, to Rand Paul, and many dozens of more, out of her more than 100 endorsements, no one has done more among current politicians, to move the GOP right, than Governor Palin.
Why would you denigrate and attack and mock the biggest force for conservatism in this era?
Why does it bother you?
This is basically what Michael Medved tells people(usually liberals) when call in griping about Sarah Palin—that she’s not that relevant any more, or words to that effect.
My opinion—I don’t recall another “irrelevant” figure whose endorsements and fundraising mojo are so prized. So everybody has their own reality, I guess.
WEAK.
You would have to be pretty ignorant, or have a strange agenda to ignore her many RINO endorsements. (fixed it)
Dude Sarah Palin is not the biggest force for conservatism in this era. Get over yourself. :-)
You first. :-)
Actually, she is, and it has nothing to do with me so I have nothing to get over.
You might examine what you have against what has been the conservative leader for the last 6 years.
