In an interview with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair on Sunday's NBC Meet the Press, host David Gregory attempted to blame the war in Iraq for ongoing Islamic terrorism by citing the former head of Britain's MI-5 claiming the conflict "increased the terrorist threat by convincing more people that Osama bin Laden's claim that Islam was under attack was correct" and "provided an arena for the jihad for which he had called." In response, Blair blasted the argument: "We've got to liberate ourselves from this, because we're making a huge error when we end up thinking somehow it's our actions that have caused this....So you can carry on explaining all this by saying, 'It's us. We provoked them. You know, it's really– they're just trying to react against Western Imperialism.' It's nonsense."

Just because Gregory looks like he escaped from a Dr. Seuss book doesn’t mean he has to exhibit the same intelligence as a Star Bellied Sneetch.
The invasion of Christian Anatolia, Egypt and North Africa in the 600’s was due to western aggression. So was the invasion of Iberia and France and Sicily and southern Italy about the same time. As a matter of fact, so was the invasion of Zoroastrian Persia, attacks on Christian Ethiopia, and the invasion of India with genocidal killing of Hindus due to western aggression. And the capture and rape of Constantinople, desecration of Hagia Sophia, and conquest of the Balkans was due to western aggression.
So too was the vast black African slave trade by the Muslims and seizure of Europeans throughout the Mediterranean, Southern Russia and as far north as the British isles due to western aggression - not to mention attacks on American shipping by Barbary pirates.
And of course, blowing up the world trade center, murdering Israeli children, the Armenian holocaust, rape of Syrian Christian women, kidnapping Christian schoolgirls in Nigeria, decapitating Christian clergymen in the Philippines, etc. - all due to western aggression.
Gee, I wish we could be as “peaceful” as the Muslims!!
David Gregory sure is an idiot and so are his self=hating western liberal friends.
