Many....have passed around the story...., accusing the tea party groups of committing fraud, being liars, in it for the money, etc.

Well, I’ve often wondered; not about the Tea Party but certain “groups”. I get 3 or 4 e-mails daily wanting money for Conservative candidates from the same “groups”.....every day. Now, I do believe that was what Steve Stockman did in his Senate “race” down here in Texas. No TV ads, no mail-outs, no campaign rallies and one campaign office that never answered the phone and never returned calls. He took the money, to the tune of about $400,000, to pay off his 2012 Campaign debt. God only knows what he did with the res.

we vette pretty thoroughly every single candidate

Well, that speaks well for your Tea Party group. But, how did the likes of Todd Akin, Richard Mourdock and others fall through the cracks? Did anyone know about the law suit against Dr. Greg Brannon before he got Tea Party endorsements in his run for the U.S. Senate seat in North Carolina? Did anyone know that Matt Bevin supports those in KY who promote Cock Fighting, and that he believes that Illegal Mexicans are harder workers than Americans? Did anyone adequately vet Dr. Milton Wolf, who is running in the Senate GOP Primary in Kansas, thoroughly enough to find out that he posted gruesome X-ray images of gunshot fatalities and medical injuries to his Facebook page and participated in online commentary layered with macabre jokes and descriptions of carnage? I’m Tea Party through and through, but a lot of our candidates have sh** for brains.

Since TP groups are loosely organized you get a lot of disparity in the way they operate.
I wish as a collective we’d all be more responsible.
Another problem is that without a cohesive organization candidates can ‘ claim” Tea party endorsement without actually having it but there is often times no one to dispute it.
I don’t think all those names actually got real endorsements BUT enough did that shouldn’t have
