Sorry, I think in the primary season we need to “make war” on the RINOs by trying our best to let the Republican primary voters know what the RINOs really are.
The term “electable candidate” (e.g., Gerald Ford, Bob Dole, John McCain, Romney) is a term that the GOP establishment (and the league of RINO protectors) uses to beat down support for conservative candidates.
So, when I see a RINO Amnesty advocate (e.g., Renee Ellmers) being supported by the GOPe I’m going to cry RINO, RINO, RINO, RINO, RINO, RINO, RINO, RINO until the cows come home. That’s the only way we’ll gradually replace the RINOs in red districts with true constitutional conservatives (such as Frank Roche http://frankrocheforcongress.com/ ).
The number of RINOs in the Republican congressional caucus has been decreasing as the number of True constitutional conservatives in the caucus has been increasing. We have to maintain the momentum of that change. We’re approaching the tipping point in the caucus and, once we reach that point, we can get rid of the RINOs currently running the GOP and replace them with conservatives. And THAT will be a breath of fresh air.
Agreed on making war. Also “electable” to me does not come from the GOPe. A candidate who looks good on TV, is good on his feet in answering gotcha questions which means is knowledgeable on issues, and most of all believes in a smaller, less intrusive government, I can always support.
