Fox Reporter Asks If Sterling Punishment Is Slippery Slope, Liberal Media Disapproves
Truth Revolt ^ | 4/29/14 | Caleb Howe

In today's press conference covering the lifetime ban and $2.5 million fine against Clippers owner Donald Sterling over his racist remarks, a Fox News' The Kelly File reporter asked NBA Commissioner Adam Silver if he was on a "slippery slope."

“Should someone lose their team for remarks shared in private? Is this a slippery slope?”

Jovian Lien is not the first person to raise the question of freedom of speech in the handing down of punishment against Sterling. On Monday, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban asked the same essential question, also using the phrase "slippery slope."

"I think there's a constitution for a reason, right? Because this is a very slippery slope," said Cuban. "What Donald said was wrong. It was abhorrent. There's no place for racism in the NBA, any business I'm associated with, and I don't want to be associated with people who have that position." He added "I think you've got to be very, very careful when you start making blanket statements about what people say and think, as opposed to what they do. It's a very, very slippery slope."

Interesting...a stupid racist comment made in private has the media all over it, but let people get murdered in Benghazi by a President they adore and...crickets...

The problem in the U.S. today is that patriotic Americans have gotten way behind on trying, convicting, and sentencing traitorous demonrats.

I'm all for sticking it to Sterling - hard.

It will be a great precedent for NBA race relations.

Now every Gold Digger trolling for B- Ball Jock cash has suddenly discover that she does even have to get knocked up to cash in.

All she needs to do is carry and iPhone and hit record when one of the great scholars and humanitarians of the NBA goes on a drug or booze fueled rant about their love for members of the Caucasian, Asian or Hispanic race.

(imho) the slope has become slippery because there currently exists within the population a segment that is crying out for more blood to be placed on the slope. As the slope becomes wetter with the blood spilled a vacuum is generated. Wherever there is a vacuum, dirt arrives in said vacuum to place infection into the blood. The media saying of ... If it bleeds, it leads .... applies well to our current visual of the prep work being done to increase the bleeding courtesy of those pushing ‘forward’ the mantra (imho).

The whole thing sounds like a setup. The mistress has 5 different alias. The only people with multiple identities are either CIA or con artists. She has some serious baggage and now she wont talk to the media or the NBA to confirm the authenticity of the tape. The NBA can’t even do an investigation but they plan on fining him.

This mans entire life, everything he has built is being destroyed over a private conversation. Whats worse, the people getting the most upset likely wouldn’t want people close to them dating outside their race. Blacks aren’t known for accepting their people dating whites. Ask any Asian, particularly Vietnamese, how they feel about their people dating white folks. Its frowned on. Same with Koreans and Indians. I grew up with an Indian girl who had to hide her relationships from her father. She dated a white guy 5 years in college and kept it secret. Where’s the outrage on against them for their racism? My Indian friend even had to date the same social class, Doctor or Lawyer or her parents would disown her.

Post of the Day.

BTTT.

Sterling and Magic Johnson prove they have friends in very low places in Stiviano?

A law suit against girlfriend should be coming soon. Mrs. Sterling is already after this wicked woman, for return of “community property” consisting of possession of a house, two Bentley autos, one Range Rover, and a Ferrari. Sterling needs to sue her socks off.

Scary creeps can be female, obviously.

Even Kareem Abdul Jabbar thinks this is a slippery slope, but since he’s black, the MSM won’t attack him for essentially saying/asking the same question.

Charles Barkley said on Monday that forcing him to sell the team would be rewarding him for his actions. His point was based on Sterling buying the team for $15 million and it’s current value of $700 million!

What I don’t understand is how the NBA can ban him from their places of business for saying something in private that they find offensive. If this was allowed, should not bakers and photographers be allowed to ban people for life from THEIR businesses for the private actions in their bedrooms? Hmmm...

Since it’s not the government doling out the “punishment”, there is little that can be said or done legally as far as I can see.

However, such actions cut in both directions, and such standards can be held to either “side”. Just as we can boycott those who we disagree with and those who speak atrocities that we condemn, so may they.

This isn’t a one way street. What standards we hold in one case must be accepted in the opposite, no matter how distasteful, otherwise we are hypocrites.

There is no doubt this is a slippery slope.

Who hasn’t said something privately he/she wouldn’t want broadcast to the whole world to ruin your life?

I don’t have racial hang-ups myself, but if the whole world could hear me off the record talking about other things I’d be pretty much toast lol.

Mark Cuban would be banned if not a democrat.
The racist Jay-Z would be banned if not a democrat.
Add more to the list.

That “girlfriend” of the owner is obviously a hooker. She has also been seen with Magic Johnson who just happens to want to but the team.... I wonder if he supplied the tape recorder.

David Geffen wants to buy the team and tried before but was turned down by the owner. He is known for liking boys, not men. NBA would welcome him.

Craig James. Eminently qualified to be a commentator on a FOX sports network. Fired. Because he agreed with Jesus Christ, St. Paul, and Moses regarding marriage.

Someone pointed out NBA teams receive royalty payments from the league itself. That amount will likely be withheld from future payments—which is how the league will collect the fine.

A silly, stupid,(perhaps even lonely, but really a jerk,)old fool. Was being serviced by a young female gold digger who was in turn being was being serviced by much youger black bucks at his expence which she paraded in front of him. Just to piss him off. Somehow after speaking with her lawyer sets up a situation where the dotting dupe seeing what little loyalty to him he expected from her being destroyed. Vents his frustration over a taped phone conversation that suddenly gets made public.

Hey, in 20 years a person might lose everything for saying something bad about a Tea Party person.

We are capable of having thin skins too....
