Harvard Poll Shows Millennials Have 'Historically Low' Levels Of Trust In Government

A new poll surveying young Americans' political attitudes released by Harvard University's Institute of Politics Tuesday found millennials have less trust in government than ever before.

Harvard's poll showed millennials, which the pollsters defined as peopled aged 18 to 29, have lost trust in a variety of different major public institutions including the President, the military, Congress, the Supreme Court, and the federal government as a whole. Of all the institutions tracked by the poll, the President and the military lost the most trust among young Americans with a seven point drop. Overall, the pollsters said the level of trust millennials have in "most American institutions tested in our survey" had dropped below even "last year’s historically low numbers."

This is a great trend...younger people getting disillusioned under a (constantly lying) Dem administration. I think it bodes well for the future!

Perhaps it's a harbinger of a conservative win in '16!

Government is the greediest, most corrupt and murderous force on Earth.

Pass it on.

Now if the Millennials would only shift that distrust from “the government” as a whole, to directly at the Current Regime, we would be getting somewhere. But in their rather undiscriminating loathing, the concept of the US Constitution and the Declaration of Independence are also held in contempt, lumped together with “the government” and despised equally with every sleazy elected official and “authoritarian” government bureaucrat.

There is no easy way to break through the barrier raised by low information voters against opening their consciousness, even a little. Superstition is a dreadfully powerful form of guidance for choices in life.

Once had a cat that would jump up on the stove, and survey all the kitchen from that perch. One day, she jumped up there when the stove was hot, and immediately jumped back off. Never sat on a hot stove again.

Never sat on a cold one again, either.

They’ll vote for democrats because, at their age, they’re still all about having no restrictions on behavior, especially those biblical restrictions on sexual behavior.

And, they still like to feel self-righteous, so all those policies of “helping the poor” and “saving the planet” are attractive as well.

They’re disillusioned because the govt isn’t moving left fast enough. Just guessing but I bet I’m right.

Then they must be a generation of masochists or morons, because they continue to vote for the socialist democratic party candidates.

The young do have a problem with government. The problem is - they still don't think it's Obama's fault!

They like voting for Democrats though.

I say it's HOGWASH !!

For a group that is supposedly suspicious of government they sure do seem to want more of it.

They campaign for big government candidates, they reliably vote for them, they demonstrate for more government, more handouts, more Nanny State and protest against anyone who wants to bring the government under control.

They only times they want less government is when it interferes with their drug use, their sexual activities or their love for open borders and illegals.

Excellent!

0bamacare was a demonstration project, and it worked!

Nobody trusts government anymore. Excepting die-hard commies, which accounts for about 32% of Americans.

It isn’t yet low enough. No one of above room temp IQ should trust the low life idiots currently infesting all levels of the sewer of government.

Slime, crooks, grifters, sewage, feces, and various forms of Clintons and Obamas.....

Ya know, a good IQ test would take care of most of these morons...the Obamadork being the first casualty.

“They’ll vote for democrats because, at their age, they’re still all about having no restrictions on behavior, especially those biblical restrictions on sexual behavior.”

Those restrictions have no place in the Republican Party platform. The Republicans should simply state they’re for upholding the law, family values, small government, and personal liberty. That’s a simple platform that almost everyone of every belief and persuasion can get behind.

Worry about the social issues at the state and local level. What this country really needs most is a heaping dose of state’s rights, and we’re not going to see that without Republican leadership at the highest levels.

An emphasis on “moral majority” policies going into 2016 is a certain recipe for disaster. We should emphasize two winning issues, the economy and freedom.

What are “family values” if not supporting the institution of the traditional family?
And saying that inherently places a moral value on family vs fornication.

The human understands this.

Worry about the social issues at the state and local level.

Why support abortion, gay marriage, and the homosexual agenda, at the federal level?

The feds set those laws and policies for millions of federal workers, and in foreign policy and immigration, and the influence of those federal policies are great on public opinion of voters at the state level.

Why would someone support the left's goals, at any level of government?
