More businesses being hurt in the environment created by Obama.

Sony is big, it'll survive. Lots of small businesses won't.

I’m surprised that this piece of bad news didn’t contain some explanation of how the economy has been slowly recovering over the last few years. These days, it seems most bad economic reports contain a blurb about the slow recovery.

Is it just because of the source? If MSM picks this up, will the statement about the “economic recovery” being slow then appear?

I once revered SONY for its electronic products but swore off them with the last video camera and stereo I bought from them. They'll support them for a few years and then stop repairing them (even paid repair). Finito, fin, end they just wash their hands from those older products. You're then left with bandit repair outlets and exorbitantly expensive repair parts and repair bills.

I worked many Sony 1100 1 inch and Betacam SPs in various incarnations and they were great and rock solid reliable.

Sony computers from what few I ever had to fool with were OK.

I have some used Sony Trinitron monitors I bought used for the home CCTV system. They work well. When they die, back to EBay.

Sony’s problem is they started selling CRAP products about 5 years ago.

I don’t know what SONY products you bought, but their cameras have Zeiss lenses that are second to none, you cannot buy a better PCM or audio recorder than SONY makes for any amount of money, and the SONY MP3 player I bought eight years ago still works perfectly and has outlived two iPods in the meantime. I have no problem buying SONY.

To me personally, in a world of commoditized PCs, you could not get me to buy anything called a “VAIO”.

Sony Vaio, 21”, All-in-One computer.
Motherboard died after only 18 months.
Warranty was 12 months.

I don’t buy extended warranties,as the products need to stand on their own, or you’re simply paying a 25% premium for inferior products.
