Pelosi: “Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi! Why aren’t we talking about something else?”

Ah, yes — because as we all should know very well by now, investigating the Benghazi attack and its aftermath has only ever been about crazed hyper-partisan Republicans wielding preposterous conspiracy theories in a wildly politicized attempt to reopen an obviously open-and-shut case, and not at all about the White House trying to cover the tracks of its own incompetence whilst preserving the narrative that al Qaeda had been decimated and was on the run. We should be talking about more important things, like Democrats’ old-and-busted, top-down ideas for killing jobs and further encumbering the economy!

I haven’t seen that, but what I will say is, again: Diversion, subterfuge. Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi. Why aren’t we talking about something else? Whatever was in that, what I know of what I’ve read in the press about those emails, was very consistent with what was put out there before. I don’t think there’s anything new there.

Just for the sake of contrast, here’s what the Speaker of the House had to say on the subject last night:

“Four Americans lost their lives in Benghazi, and this White House has gone to extraordinary lengths to mislead, obstruct, and obscure what actually took place. I am appalled to learn that the administration concealed relevant documents after the House subpoenaed all emails related to the misleading talking points. When four Americans die at the hands of terrorists, the families of the victims – and the American people – deserve the full, unvarnished truth and nothing less. Instead, this White House has been callously dismissive of our efforts to get answers. The House has a constitutional obligation to carry out oversight of the administration, and the president has an obligation to cooperate. This evasiveness must end. Our investigation into the events of that September night is going to continue until this White House owns up to the truth – and until these terrorists are brought to justice.”

Sharyl Attkisson on the new Benghazi email revelation

By: John Hayward

HUMAN EVENTS

4/30/2014

On Wednesday morning, Glenn Beck interviewed former CBS News reporter Sharyl Attkisson – one of the few mainstream media reporters to do actual, skeptical reporting on the Benghazi affair, and other Obama Administration scandals, which is a big reason why she’s a “former CBS News reporter” – about the White House spin-control emails uncovered by Judicial Watch.

Beck mentioned the fraternal relationship between White House communications adviser Ben Rhodes and his brother, CBS News honcho David Rhodes, who was not entirely supportive of Attkisson’s reporting on Benghazi. She said she was glad to see “a little more light” shed on this relationship, and confirmed CBS News decided not to make the sort of Freedom of Information Act request that Judicial Watch used to pry the truth out of the Administration. (It should, however, be noted that CBS was the one and only mainstream media network to cover yesterday’s stunning Benghazi revelations, and while they gave the last word to White House spin doctors, they provided a fairly thorough report.)

Attkisson lamented the incestuous relationship between Big Government and Big Media, where media figures slip easily through revolving doors to become Administration officials and vice versa – a “perfect storm” that leads to both deliberate, ideological media bias, and an almost unconscious tendency to ignore stories that don’t appeal to the tastes of the joint Administration/media culture.

Beck brought up the weird hacking incident in which Attkisson’s computers were remotely activated and searched – an incident confirmed as a hacker attack by CBS News security experts, although the identity of the perpetrators remains officially unknown. Attkission said she remains “outraged” by the attack, and has long said she suspects she knows who was responsible, but deferred further questions to her lawyer. Beck and Attkisson discussed the growing atmosphere of intimidation against journalists who don’t toe the Administration/Big Media party line.

Attkisson also discussed the still-mysterious events of September 11, 2012, making some interesting points about how we still don’t know what Barack Obama did while the Benghazi attack was unfolding, why the national security apparatus seemed “paralyzed” for six or seven crucial hours, or why there were no contingency preparations whatsoever for such an event.

The rest of the scandal...

“Watergate, Watergate, Watergate!” Why wasn’t the country talking about anything else back in 1974?

Because much more than even Obamacare (which is purely domestic), Benghazi is a total failure of international dimensions.

And in being that failure, the leadership of that nation once known as “the United States of America” has fallen to a low not known since the administration of President Ulysses S. Grant. Communist (Communist!) China is about to overtake the former “United States of America” as having the largest Gross National Product in the world.

If you tell us the truth and punish the guilty I’ll be glad to stop talking about Benghazi.

What does she mean by “we”? Has she ever talked about Benghazi except to dismiss it as a nonissue?

Pelosi is like the accused murderer who is brought to court to answer the charges, “can’t we talk about anything else besides murder”?

Would you like to talk about bill Clinton's spluge on Monica's blue dress, Nancy?

Oh, that's right, that's old news...kinda like Benghazi, IRS, Fast & Furious, etc. right, Nazi Pelosi?

Am I wrong to wonder why, given the quote by the Speaker of the House, Representative John Boehner, (R-OH), and his voiced outrage, he hasn’t been more forceful about it?

Where are the Watergate-like hearings, the special prosecutors, the detailed and thorough investigations, the subpoenas, the arguments before judges to make the administration yield testimonies and documents?

In other words, are Boehner’s words just words?

Is he playing us?

Because IF they’re NOT going to do anything like what I mentioned above, then they might as well sit down and shut up.
