After more than a year of resisting the calls of a vast majority of his conference, Speaker John Boehner is relenting and forming a special committee to investigate the Sept. 11, 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya and resulting scandal.
“The administration's withholding of documents – emails showing greater White House involvement in misleading the American people – is a flagrant violation of trust and undermines the basic principles of oversight upon which our system of government is built. And it forces us to ask the question, what else about Benghazi is the Obama administration still hiding from the American people?” Boehner said in a statement announcing the decision.
“The new emails released this week were the straw that broke the camel’s back,” a senior GOP leadership aide said. “The Speaker was furious to learn that the administration withheld relevant documents from a congressional subpoena. He’s sick and tired of this evasion and obstruction from the administration, and wants a solution to finally force accountability, get the truth, and provide justice.”
House Armed Services Committee Chairman Buck McKeon had also waged a high-profile battle against an oversight committee hearing yesterday, undermining the notion that the five committees investigating the issue were working together, Republicans close to the matter said.

I don’t disagree with Wright’s notice.
I recently caught a whiff of establishmentism emanating from his otherwise determined persona.
I really hate to see Valerie Jarrett get away with the IRS targeting and Benghazi and F&F. She appears to be as arrogant as BO and the Mooch and Holder.
GOOD! Gowdy is a pit bull. Just what the spineless Pubbie leadership in the House needs!
I was skeptical until read Gowdy leading the charge..maybe this will be more than the usual yawnfest.

Trey Gowdy leans pro-amnesty.
But that is irrelevant to this issue. Gowdy has the legal experience and the fire in the belly and the stones to get results.
As a minimum, I predict that the result of Gowdy heading the select committee will be that Hillary is not the nominee.
At a maximum, Obama is removed from office. A pattern of obstructionism is realized and Fast & Furious is prosecuted to its proper conclusion. The democrat party is disgraced forever and CBS stops doing the “news”.
I wonder if Bonehead has to appoint a Pubbie as chairman? If not, I would not be surprised if he would appoint that chump Elijah Cummings. Then they will REALLY get to the bottom of it. /s
YES! Trey Gowdy along with Louie Gohmert should be considered for Speaker of the House at the beginning of the next Congress. There are scores of better choices than the worthless (to Conservatives) John Boehner- Ted Poe, Mike McCaul, and many others.
I think Dr. K. is onto something. And Trey Gowdy to head the committee would be good.

I like that point. Is a Great Point (imho). America could do better.
Boner will stifle any progress by that committee. He will also not allow an impeachment to come from it, nor will he entertain a special prosecutor recommended by it. This committee has no value other than a fact finding mission but it will have no judicial authority in any way.
The Uniparty can’t break up soon enough. Unless there are articles of impeachment, another big time waster.
Krauthammer just told us this was over. Now it isn’t. Anything he has to say is nothing but words from an opportunist trying to cover his arse.
