Of course we do all realize these stories are made up right? Well we should. The press will believe anything a kid tells them.

Thanks. I think some soap and water and a bottle of eye drops would suffice for medical treatment. lol

It tastes horrible alright. It makes the smoke from burning pine seem smooth and tasty.

I've heard that rubbing the genital area after dicing up jalapenos or habaneros will intensify the buzz as well as making it last longer. Been there, done that...except that I was only sorting habanero seeds...without gloves, natch. First trip to the restroom, and the burn commenced.

Try peeling a bushel of XXX hot green chile without gloves.
You'll use gloves in the restroom for a week.

Nice try...I’ve learned my lesson. :-)
With bhut jolokia and trinidad scorpions in the house, it’s gloves, mask and goggles.

I have yet to obtain either of those peppers but I know someone who would eat them if I did. When pulling those dried XXX green chiles off of the drying wires one seed popped off and, naturally, avoided the lens of my glasses and went straight into my eye. Most intense 20 minutes of pain I’ve ever experienced.

You tried it? I just couldn’t go there-I don’t even like the smell of unburned bananas, never mind lit on fire.
I love the smell of burning pine-cedar too, but I wouldn’t smoke it...

Most intense 20 minutes of pain Ive ever experienced. No doubt...I'd rather take your word for it than experience it myself.

Only once! Yes, pine smoke smells good in small doses but a lungfull is killer. Potentially literally since pine smoke is toxic whereas hardwood smoke generally is not. Found that out when I grilled burgers over pine coals that weren’t sufficiently burned down.

Yes, I’m sure you would. But it might be just what these beezers are looking for. You could package up some Ghost Pepper seeds and sell them to the kids.

That’s funny. When I handed a bag of the XXXhots to a friend, the one who can eat any chile, as a joke I made the disclaimer “I take no responsibility for any injury you may incur.” Sure enough a few minutes later I hear him cry out “@Q%$#%#!” He handled a chile and then forgot and rubbed his eye.

You’re a braver man than I, Gunga Din...
Not any pine here, but plenty of cedar-actually, it is Ashe Juniper-but you don’t grill meat over it-there is plenty of oak and that is great to grill with.

Juniper smells wonderful. It is considered sacred or spiritual among dozens of societies around the world many of whom never had outside contact until recent centuries.
Not a lot of hardwoods up here in the Rockies of northern CO where the burger incident happened. I would attribute it to ignorance though not bravery. I have cooked over pine coals many times since but with great care that there are only coals. Some willow or river birch twigs are good for kicking up the fire without risk but they are too small and burn too fast to make an entire camp fire with.

I burn twigs and bark from the cedar/juniper trees on the property over a lump of charcoal made for that purpose as incense when I pray my rosary for my friend who is fighting cancer...
