Attkisson: Media Now ‘Sounding the Alarm’ on WH Muzzling Them
MEDIAite ^ | May 2nd, 2014 | Josh Feldman

Posted on 05/02/2014 4:21:24 PM PDT by Hotlanta Mike

Sharyl Attkisson spoke with Philadelphia radio host Dom Giordano Friday about the latest Benghazi news and how she believes that the media is slowly becoming more interested in covering the story and “sounding the alarm” about the press restrictions being imposed by the Obama administration, in spite of their early pledge to be the most transparent administration.

Attkisson said this week’s big Benghazi revelations aren’t necessarily new information, but now there an “appetite for the information” in the mainstream press that wasn’t there before. She pointed out how there are journalists from every news organization starting to speak out on how much they’re being muzzled by the White House.

“They were sounding the alarm. These were reporters from The New York Times and many other places saying that the Obama Administration is imposing unprecedented restrictions on the media and this is something we need to be very concerned about.” Attkisson said the climate under the Obama administration “has not been good for investigative journalism” and the journalists who were hoping for a more transparent White House are now openly saying “this is worse for transparency than the Bush administration.”

Agree. They won’t risk promotions, cocktail parties, and possible work for this regime or the next.

Reminds me of the parable of dropping a frog in a pot of boiling water vs a cold one where the heat is slowly turned up. In other words: their whining is too little too late

“They’ll follow the money for a while if public revulsion is too great, but return to liberalism as soon as the coast is clear.”

If the heat gets turned up enough they will treat Obama as an aberration never giving up the cause. Remember they never give up on communism they just think it hasn’t been done right yet, forever holding out hope.

Here’s what’s really happening. Reporters know there’s a good chance a Republican will be the next President - and they’ll have to switch from being gullible lapdogs to pit bulls.

If they did it overnight even the idiots on the left would see it... so they’ll ‘discover’ they need to ask real questions... but the discovery will be slow while a dem is still in office...

Shame on the press.

I don’t believe for a second the media is becoming more interested in reporting this story. They simply understand that it has moved into a new phase and to limit the damage to obama they have to move with it. They will now try to deflect attention to low level functionaries and failing that throw a bigger fish under the bus.

The MSM will take small interest in Benghazi, but soon will be back “reporting” White House talking points and defending Obama. If Bush had done this the MSM would be in a feeding frenzy demanding his resignation. With Obama they will not hold him accountable.

“Most journalists are liberal. But, if the public gets aroused, they’ll write what sells”

Maybe, but Newspapers are being propped up, they are broke. The Marxist are shifting profits around from the TV media hoping to hold off the scourge of the Right.

Well, this hadn't occurred to me before. You are right. Definitely, FR is a valuable source for discourse and opinion-sharing.

If I were a member of the liberal press at some point you would resent how you are being treated, spied on and would return fire.

Liberals are self righteous and have egos. This White House has been acting like their enemy and at some point they will IMO go for actual reporting.

The media is in the back pocket of this fascist regime AND THEY ARE RIGHT WHERE THEY WANT TO BE. They will NEVER TURN THEIR BACK ON THEIR OWN. After all, THEY ARE NOT REPUBLICANS.

Don't count on that.

That would require a firm belief in a minimal competency level degree of professionalism, not currently evident.

Better to ping pong all around the Internet yourself, and gather available facts yourself.

The professional liberals melt when exposed to facts.

The MSM is getting ready to sacrifice Kerry to protect Hillary. Everyone knows it and are just waiting for Obama to figure out how to reward Kerry for his courageous service while making sure Hillary is unscathed.

In other words, Kerry has to be guaranteed a spot in Hillary’s cabinet. Maybe secretary of defense.

Except for her, precious few others from the alphabet news, Fox and conservative radio, the rest of them can step off. I don’t care how many bandwagoneers come on board now...they were derelict and deceitful to the American public. May they rot.
