Pupils aged 14 and 15 held by police over alleged conspiracy to murder teacher at high school
Two teenage girls have been arrested by police on suspicion of conspiracy to murder a teacher.
The girls aged 14 and 15 were held by Gwent Police, in South Wales, in the wake of the fatal stabbing of Ann Maguire earlier this week.
Officers detained the pair at Cwmcarn High School, in Cwncarn, near Newport, on Thursday because of concerns about their behaviour, it has emerged.
The 15-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of threats to kill, possession of a bladed article on school premises and conspiracy to commit murder.
It is believed a kitchen knife had been found in the girls school bag and police were called in by a teacher at the school.

I always like comments like, “...no danger at any time.”
If the girl had a knife in her backpack, it was a matter of minutes at worst away from a serious problem.
None of us is fully aware in a group. This kid could have walked up out of a group and ended the teacher’s life.
I’d say that’s a real danger.
Charming coed.
I typically stay the hell as far away from English school girls as I possibly can.
Unlike me who... well never mind! LOL
Good one...
Probably got tired of trying to pronounce Cwmcarn.
Remember when kids used to conspire to hide a frog in teacher’s desk (or a tack in their chair) ?
We did the tack on the chair trick and it stuck into his wallet and he didn’t know it was there. He couldn’t figure out why we were cracking up every time he went up to the board.
Isn’t the UK under Sharia Law? What are these girls doing in a school?
Don’t call these girls “bossy”...
bttt
Cwmcarn
Just pronounce the ‘w’ as a short soft ewe....sorry ‘u’.
Stretch the ‘a’to a double ‘aa’, you won’t be far off.
Ditto ..... I got locked in a closet for 4 hours.
I think this is largely the result of trying to abolish anti-social behavior by limiting access to weapons, instead of actually taking the time to socialize children properly.
A properly socialized child knows that he or she should never resort to violence, regardless of the availability of weapons. A non-socialized child thinks anything goes, and will only slightly be inconvenienced by non-availability of certain weapons (since almost anything can be a weapon).
Personal responsibility: hated by liberals, but essential for civil society.
Welsh.
England includes Wales. I know they can be testy about that, however. Very well then, British.
