California DMV Gears Up For Undocumented Drivers
FOX 40 TV Sacramento ^ | May 2, 2014 | by Lonnie Wong

The California Department of Motor Vehicles is anticipating an onslaught of driver’s license applications by undocumented residents allowed by Assembly Bill 60. Plans are underway to open four massive license application centers. Nearly a thousand new employees will also be hired, many of them bilingual.

The agency estimates that as many as 1.4 million undocumented residents will apply.

DMV is still struggling over what proof of residency and I.D. documentation they will require. They could include a birth certificate or a consular I.D.

Make a copy of that and put it in your wallet and next time you are pulled over by the CHP give it to them.

I’m betting the CHP is being instructed not to give tickets to illegal aliens with valid drivers’ licenses.

They are allowed to break every other law on the books, so why should they be given tickets for speeding or making “illegal” u turns?

I’m trying to understand what is the point of licensing illegals.

It can’t be safety, because does anyone think that if they fail the driving test or written test they will quit driving in California? HAH!

If it’s just for an id, then they have access to consular ids from the Mexican government.

Wow, more stupidity from the late great state of CA.

Won’t this negate my use of a CA driver’s license as a valid form of ID, since this basically opens the floodgates for fraud? After this goes into effect, how will anyone be able to tell if a driver’s license was issued on the basis of valid documentation?

These illegals should be deported, not rewarded.

The last time I was in CA, outside LAX, I was hit by a hit-and-run driver. It happened fast but I’m pretty sure he was an illegal. I haven’t been back to the `Golden state’ since `82.

So California’s non-English speaking poor non-citizens can obtain photo IDs, but the citizen poor cannot?

I was going to say they won’t be able to call them undocumented any more, but based on the excerpt I doubt the fact that they will be documented is going to matter:

“The agency estimates that as many as 1.4 million undocumented residents will apply. DMV is still struggling over what proof of residency and I.D. documentation they will require.”

Require ID? Isnt that kind of unconstitutional?

And racist?

Every single legal driver in California will see a massive increase in their auto insurance under ‘uninsured or under-insured’ drivers.

The state of California is giving driving privileges to a massive group of people who don’t have driving experience, who don’t read & write & speak English and who are not able to even prove where they come from with a birth certificate.

You and I, born in the USA, have to provide a plethora of documentation to do anything.

It's so that they can say "we ask for IDs" when they are questioned about voter-fraud — in fact CA might pass a "voter ID" law… which will be rendered useless by some beaurcrat [or judge] declaring that anyone with a valid driver's license must be allowed to vote.

That's because you and I are only useful as "worker-bees" and one way they ensure this is by exploiting the follow the law mentality that we've been raised with (and, indeed, indoctrinated with [if you went to public school]). Ideally, you and I would have absolutely no impact on policy, reduced to serfdom — at least according to the mentality and actions of our ruling-caste.

With all those drunk and/or pot-smoking illegals on CA’s super slabs, we won’t be traveling there any more.

And who have no respect for the laws of the United States.

Not word one yet on other states refusing to accept California driver’s licenses as a valid form of identification for things other than driving.

That is, states have agreed to accept each others’ drivers licenses as ID while driving; but they have no obligation to accept other states’ licenses for other purposes, such as cashing checks, taking out loans, and numerous other things.

They might even sweeten the deal by making contracts formed on the basis of California drivers’ licenses ‘caveat vendor’ to business. Which means that if the person from California ripped them off, it was their own fault for making a contract with someone of indeterminate citizenship.

Which would mean that while those with a California license might leave California, they couldn’t do business outside of California, because no business would agree to it.
