There are eight candidates vying to be the Republican Senate nominee in North Carolina. The primary on Tuesday, May 6 will determine if there is a runoff and, if so, who will be in it. Ultimately, only two of the candidates are going to be relevant in the outcome: Thom Tillis and Greg Brannon.
Like most races across the country, this is a battle between the establishment/moderate and the grassroots/conservative-libertarian wings of the GOP.
Tillis, who is the state house speaker, is thoroughly backed by the establishment. His supporters include: Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, Karl Rove, Lindsey Graham, Jeb Bush, and the Chamber of Commerce.
Translation: Tillis will be a reliable vote for compromise, bailouts, higher spending, amnesty, common core, defeatism, and everything else his Republican constituents dont like.
Brannon, who is an activist and OB-GYN, is running with the backing of fervent supporters. His endorsements include: Senator Rand Paul, Senator Mike Lee, Mark Levin, Glenn Beck, Erick Erickson & RedState, Rep. Thomas Massie, Ann Coulter, Ron Paul, Matt Kibbe & FreedomWorks, Gun Owners of America, National Association for Gun Rights, and the Tea Party Patriots.
For readers of this site, and for conservatives, libertarians, and constitutionalists everywhere, the choice is clear. Brannon is the candidate to vote for. Not just because he is such a great candidate, but also because Tillis is such a bad candidate.
Not only is Brannon better on the issues, polling consistently places him closer to Kay Hagan than Tillis.

I am in Wake County and will vote for Dr. Greg Brannon, no more RINOs.
... and vote for anyone for the Supreme Court EXCEPT Robin Hudson
Several years ago, I sworre I would never ever again give one penny to the NRA .
They confirmed my feelings again today.
Today I got a flier in the mail asking me to vote for Tillis.
Tillis is no better than Kay Hagan and is as duplicitous as McConnell.
Which entitlement wins?
Eight candidates and a 40% threshold to win outright begs the
question anyone win without a runoff? There are signs out on the
roadways/intersections but not a lot. Also I’ve not noticed a lot
of tv ads.
I live in Cary just a few minutes away from Dr. Brannon. He has my vote. Of course I think every Republican from Murphy to Manteo should vote for him and send a message Turkey Neck Mitch and Fat Boy Rove.
Done!
My wife and I early voted due to our being out of State on election (primary) day. WE were PROUD to vote for Dr.Brannon.
Fingers crossed on this one for Brannon.
