Eleven Arrested over Missing Malaysian Airlines Flight

Eleven Al Qaeda-linked terrorists were arrested in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, according to the Daily Mail, in connection to the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 in March.

The eleven, whose ages range from 22 to 55 and include students, business professionals, odd-job workers and even a young widow, are being questioned intensively over the flight after an investigation by several intelligence organizations.

Despite repeated denials that the flight's disappearance was a terror attack, Malaysian officials finally admitted after the arrests that the new development raises the possibility of Al Qaeda's involvement.

"The possibility that the plane was diverted by militants is still high on the list and international investigators have asked for a comprehensive report on this new terror group," an officer with the Counter Terrorism Division of Malaysian Special Branch stated to the daily on Friday.

He added that some suspects have already admitted to planning "sustained terror campaigns" in Malaysia but denied being involved with the disappearance.

“Bingo. They built runways on pacific islands that could handle B-29s in a few days. This bird is down and waiting.”

Ditto Bingo. Was my first reaction to this whole affair. Explains why there is no wreckage, and why the muslims haven’t publicly celebrated another victory. Cuz it’s not over yet.

Morning Moose, from this local. Agreement on is a mystery. An incomplete mystery till found for this disappearance of passengers, crew and plane. Too many conflicting stories. Too many completely baseless theories. Too many theories yet to be resolved. Most difficult is forming an opinion based in fact till some facts emerge. The only facts known for certain (imho) are the passengers, crew and plane is missing. Not much after all this time.

Morning NTI.
There are one or two interesting coincidences but not enough for a full blown conspiracy theory.
Agreed ,Best left as a mystery, for now.

>>Unusual for it not to have been ‘Claimed’ by anyone.

I think it probably was by the pilot - a suicide note of some sort, but it’ll never see the light of day.

Not if it was a failed mission...Or an incomplete or ongoing mission.

Bingo. They built runways on pacific islands that could handle B-29s in a few days. This bird is down and waiting.

Doubtful.

A plan to use such a jet for attack only works if you turn it around quickly.

A newly constructed 7000+ foot runway on some island is easy to spot with todays satellites.

The longer that plane sits, the more likely it is found.

Interesting theory, but tough to go undetected with all the satellite imagery available. My guess is that they've just fired or demoted their equivalent of Chief Moose and this is what is bringing them closer to the truth.

Who remembers Chief Moose and his 'angry middle aged white guy in a white panel van' theory?

Thanks for the link. :)

This now creates:
1 oh good, that simplifys things. Or
2 They have stretched the truth to cover something up, again.

I’ll go with the first, for now.

So then which one of them was on the phone with Captain Shah before the flight and during his low flyby of the cell towers on Penang Island???

And which ones were on the plane???

And which of them went on a fishing expedition off of West Java 8 weeks ago???

What part could any of these 11 have played in the hijacking/diversion of the plane???

I think they are just grasping at straws to look like they are doing something.

Yep -- or trying to divert attention from the involvement of their senior pilot in the hijacking.

Dad was a Marine. He was in the second wave that landed on guadlecanal in the Solomons. The marines were volunteered to help regrade Henderson field with the navy Seabees. They used japanese bulldozers and graders. Not happy doing that by the way, being a marine

To answer you... on jungle strips the jungle would quickly reclaim it. On desert strips probably a better chance of it still being there, but also more likely to be a known commodity.

Nothing was gained by the terrorists, therefore, they had no actual bragging rights

I disagree. If it was terrorists, what could be more terrorizing than "your flight might disappear without a trace?" It's true they didn't get a specific bargaining chip, but then again, when a bomb goes off, there's nothing to bargain with either. They do it for fame, they do it for fun.

With my admittedly limited TV info, I still suspect the pilot, who was under stress from a failed marriage (his wife had just moved out), and who was deeply upset by a political trial on the day of the flight.

How man million square miles are we talking about. Way too much acreage to check out every scar in a jungle. And it could have landed on a real military strip in Pakistan or some other muzzy country like Indonesia, then hidden

IIRC, it was the co-pilot whose phone was in use. He was also the one known for being a “devout Muslim, “ btw.

Flown to a remote runway, passengers disposed of and fitted with new ‘black box’, then flown to a regular airport hanger in Shitholeistan to be fitted with bombs etc and wait for...

They would have only had to hide it for a week or so, and then move it when nobody was looking for it...in the air.

There is a lot of unrecorded, untracted air space in that area.
