Parents have more options as overeducated young people turn to baby-sitting.
Ashley Newhall of Philadelphia has a law degree and a master's in agricultural law, and she passed the bar in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. These days, she's working with some extremely demanding and exacting clients.
Most of them are less than 3 years old. Newhall's primary income source for the past few years has been baby-sitting.
Parents, said Newhall, are "blown away. They're like, 'Oh my gosh! You're the most overeducated nanny I've ever had.' "
But jobs are scarce, and all that education came with six-figure debt for Newhall, 28. Along with two other jobs, she said, "the nannying is keeping me afloat."
Newhall may consider her stint in the nursery a detour. But for busy parents, it's a boon. Parents are enjoying a pool of highly qualified and educated 20-something sitters some with safety certifications and degrees in early-childhood education often at the same price as the high-schooler down the street.

Cows nurture their young to maturity, and don’t use abortion as a form of birth control. Even though they both have vegan diets and neither shave their pits, please don’t insult the cows.
Yes, indeed, what d’ya bet these young people voted for obama
This administration has been a nightmare
“Yesterday on twitter I saw some clown whining that his degree in womans studies means he should make more than minimum wage.
I could practically hear his gasp of horror over the net when I suggested that he go find work on a farm. It will pay far more than minimum wage and cows arent all that different from liberal women.”
That is funny
Hmmm......
A Philadelphia agricultural lawyer can,get a job
Perhaps she should leave the northern urban sewer and move to Omaha or Iowa city where they actually grow crops
“Using our interpretive key, “What is the pro-Democrat purpose of this article?””
Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner!!!
That's because, in order to bring up her own children, she would have to submit to the slavery of being a homemaker, beholden to the financial largesse of her working husband/master, which would not be progressive.
Opposing counsel will explain what precedent means and point to the case in question. Her counter will be, "Dude....that was like 50 years ago."
“.. and in other wonderful news, the official Unemployment Number is down by four tenths of a point, fuel and food prices are way up giving a healthy nudge to retailers and suppliers, more people signed up for Obamacare than expected and are now getting premium health care, and the economy is roaring back for the fifth straight year!!”
You forgot about the chocolate rations. They’re up again, you know. 25 grams!!!!
Let’s see....My first job out of college was a nanny. All of the American nannies I knew had some college and about 90% had a degree. Recently I networked with a prominent and very successful person in my working world and she too was a nanny straight out of college. That would have been in the 70’s.
It was one of the best things I did for myself. I didn’t have the greatest time in college and this allowed me to step back and retool in my free time and at the same time save A LOT of money. I worked for a good family and met some really great kids and other people who helped me along the way.
In other words, the nanny trade has been around since families have been around and college educated nannies have been around since colleges have been around.
The only real downside I see here is paying off that student loan. They are getting an extra education on things not covered in college for whatever that’s worth.

AH—NO.
As a kid raised on a dairy farm, the dairy calves are taken away about 2 days into their lives & raised on a bottle until they eat on their own from normal forage.
Otherwise, there isn’t enough milk for the dairy to sell to you & me, as the calf will steal it all.
The calves on BEEF cows get to stay with Mama.
