Release Obama’s Benghazi intelligence briefings
WaPo ^ | Monday, May 5, | Marc A. Thiessen,

President Obama claims he was only repeating what the intelligence community told him when his administration asserted that the attack in Benghazi began with a spontaneous protest inspired by an Internet video. If that’s the case, there is a simple way to prove it: Give the new congressional select committee investigating Benghazi his daily intelligence briefings that show exactly what he was told.

There is precedent for doing so. In 2004, at the request of the 9/11 Commission, President George W. Bush declassified and publicly released the President’s Daily Brief (PDB) delivered to him before the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. No sitting president had ever declassified a PDB while still in office. But Bush did it anyway.

I miss him too. Right or wrong, and yes at times more left leaning than we’d have preferred I admire a man of principle and who stands by his convictions. He held admirable qualities surely missing in most politicians today. He and we allowed the left to destroy him and shape him. Why? Because he wasn’t conservative enough and we were unable to see past out extremely narrow minded ideology on those things that mattered most. Before I too stepped into leadership a wise man once told me learn to pick your battles, something this man did well. Bush is admirable

Don’t get too excited. Marc Thiessen was a speechwriter for W. and Rumsfeld and is a frequent guest on Fox. No left wing nut job. No doubt the WaPo’s token
right wing columnist.

Does Obama actually claim that’s his BC, or is he sort of slippery about it?

He just tries to laugh it off but only the Koolaid drinkers are buying. What a putz!

John McCain STATED TONIGHT on Gretta that Trey Gowdy was just
like Lindsey Graham

**********************************

Awful, wasn’t it? McCain looked demented when he said it.

To be fair I think we have to take that as the utmost compliment from McCain...at least in mcCains mind that’s the pinnacle.

It was a ‘way back’ reference to Linda being a member of the Judiciary Committee during the impeachment of President Bill Clinton in 1998 and he was one of the managers who brought the House’s case to Clinton’s trial in the Senate which did not convict Clinton. McCain had a really funny look on his face and was falling over himself to mention Linda which made it seem (to me) as more of an effort to get Linda’s name out there rather than compliment Gowdy, but he could have meant it the other way - sort of a strange exchange. It certainly reinforced that McCain/Linda are joined at the hip.

Personally, I think Gowdy will do much better than Linda .... with his passion and the voice he’s got, he brings to my mind Patrick Henry .... a fiery orator and a patriot.

If I may assist the Hon. Mr. Gowdy in his labors:
1. What were the standing operational security plans, response plans and orders (Department of State, DoD, and CIA) in effect for the Benghazi “consulate” on and before September 11, 2012?

2. Who wrote those orders and who approved them?

3. Why were inadequate defensive forces available to Amb. Stevens and the others in the Benghazi compounds on or about Sept. 11, 2012?

4. Was there a “stand down” order issued to the available response forces? If so, who issued that order and why?

5. Where was the President during the evening of September 11, 2012 and the following morning and what actions did he take?

6. Where was the Secretary of State during the evening of September 11, 2012 and what actions did she take?

7. Who planned and orchestrated the deception plan concerning the forces and motives of the enemy at Benghazi in the weeks following the attack?

There may be many more good questions but these should provide an adequate beginning.
