Obama Biographer: 'The World Seems to Disappoint Him'
Weekly Standard ^ | 8:11 AM, May 6, 2014 | Daniel Halper

David Remnick, an Obama biographer and the editor of the New Yorker, said this morning on national TV that President Obama is disappointed in the world:

(Remnick on Morning Joe)

"The profile [of President Obama] that I published in the New Yorker was somebody that eerily, eerily seemed to be claiming himself--it was a sense of not giving up, but of deep frustration--that was the profile that I published in the New Yorker. Somebody frustrated and disappointed," said Remnick, who has proven to be deeply sympathetic to this president.

"And that's what's frustrating to me sometimes about Obama is that the world seems to disappoint him," he continued to laughter from others on the TV set. "Republicans disappoint him, Bashar al-Assad disappoints him, Putin as well. And the fighting spirit sometimes is lacking in the performative aspects of the presidency."

But that hasn't kept Remnick from souring on Obama. "Do I think that at the end of eight years this will go down as a terrible presidency? I don't. You do. I don't. I think an enormous amount has been achieved."

Obama “It’s not that I am a total failure it is that the world can’t recognize my greatness”.

Correctamundo. He and Michelle both treat the Presidency as winning the lottery. And for eight years, they will enjoy every single perk of those lottery winnings. Never did the concept of ‘service’ ever enter their mindsets. It’s all about them getting their slice of the pie.

He reminds me of a child of friends; when he was four or five, the parents told me that they had taken him to a child psychologist who told them that his problem was that “he is bored with his toys, he is just too bright for what is available on the market”. That was 35 years ago — the now middle aged man is now in his 40s, has worked at a series of odd jobs that are low-paying with no future and really has accomplished something close to nothing and is quite unhappy. I believe this is partly the fault of the self-esteem movement where everyone wins and gets a prize and no one is superior to anyone else in any skill or accomplishment, no matter how hard they work (with the exception of pro sports). But it results in a lot of disappointed people, who have been told how great and wonderful they are their entire lives and when their performance and capabilities don’t come close to measuring up to their own expectations, they get frustrated and angry at the general populace who don’t see that the emperor is wearing a gold-encrusted frock but instead has no clothes.

Obama has surpassed Jimmy Carter as the worst pResident in The history of these United States.

Jimmy Carter may have been gullible,He may have been wrong on a lot of things but Carter did not set out to harm. The United States.

Obama is one Evil S.O.B.,Whats more he he knows it and he doesn’t seem to care that we know it.

Exactly. You nailed it. Its ALWAYS about him.

Reminds me of the old proverb: the empty vessel makes the greatest sound.

The biographer is saying the world isn’t good enough for Barack, he deserves a better world that could take advantage of the opportunity Barack presents.

‘You may hurl when ready, Gridley.’

I’m liking the new John Lennon song . . .

“Ono Obama Ono!”
“Impeach Obama, OYes!”

When McCain and Obama were running....I sat and looked at both resumes. McCain is arrogant, very capable of getting himself into stupid comments, should have done time in jail for the Keating Five business, and a national hero. All of this adds up to a question mark.

But then I turned to Senator Obama. His real resume is roughly seven lines. If you had asked what five significant things he’d accomplished in his life worth an twenty lines each...there’s nothing. The two years at Occidental are question marks and suggest he had at least a marginal class or two....yet Columbia shocks you by accepting him entirely and never requiring more classes to make up for the possible failed ones.

In the end....Obama is some gifted and highly educated character that is waiting for some mythical winged horse to swoop down and carry him onto bigger and better things. Politics is supposed to be a scripted event, five star speeches, and no difficult economics, international intrigue, or terrorist attacks to deal with.

A disaster? More of guy in a nice $700 suit...using elite phrases in chats...seeming to be an intellectual but never quiet showing any reasoning or thinking ability...just having an outcome solution already and crafting the problem to fit the solution ready to go (kinda like shovel-ready).

Disappointed? I kinda think of him as a kid who aspires to be a train engineer, then arriving to find that the cab is awful cold in winter, grit gets in your teeth as you gaze ahead, your pants are always oily, and your shovel guy in the cab (Biden) isn’t all that bright. So you do eight years of disappointment and leave to find mostly further disappointment in life because no foundation really needs someone of your background around except to make marginal speeches.

Did I miss anything?

‘The World Seems to Disappoint Him’, ..........

They certainly have that headline turned around, it should read more like this “Odumbo has disappointed the world”, he certainly has been a MAJOR disappointment in the U.S.

If Obamacare stands, he won. Now that Republicans say it’s here to stay, it appears he has succeeded in turning the United States into a socialist state. That’s what he promised to do. Integrity refers to internal consistency of values and principles. Obama the Marxist has demonstrated INTEGRITY IN THE EXTREME. I wish the Bushes had demonstrated the same commitment to THEIR supposed values.

Not surprising in the least. bammy is a liberal (and a few other things). But like every single liberal I have ever met, known of, or even heard of he suffers from rampant delusions. (seriously, liberalism ought to be considered a mental disorder or a sign of mental disorder, but I digress)

bammy and libs have this idealistic streak - which is actually a good thing - in small doses. We ought to try to make the world a better place. But where they lose it is in practicality. Wishing it were so does not make it so. Let me repeat that for the lib lurkers reading this. Wishing the world were full of gumdrops, unicorns, and pixie dust does not make it your kind of idealistic place.

Here's the cold hard lesson bammy and libs... The world is not a nice place. Human nature can be, and routinely is, a very ugly thing. There is evil loose in the world in ways big and small. So all your idealism and good intentions routinely crash and burn when confronted with the real world. Disappointing? Of course. Frustrating? You bet, for everyone.

This is why I want to literally grab every liberal I see and shake them or slap them across the face and say "Wake up! Those are great ideas but they simply will not work!" How many times do societies have to suffer shared ruin and misery before you see it! {expletive}! What a bunch of slow learners! You all have this idealistic vision of what could be, and you fall for every power hungry two-bit despot and manipulator that comes along and promises you "progress." Ugh. All he/she wants is your voluntary cooperation and help until he/she has enough power that it is no longer voluntary.

Disappointing bammy? You have no idea, no concept of how disappointing you liberals and fascists are. No idea.

Obama is tied with Mr Peanut for the 2nd worst presidency in the last 100 years.

I have to disagree. obama is far, far worse. Former President Carter was merely inept and ill-prepared. I believe obama is actively trying to change America, and not for the better. Not in ways in keeping with the principles our Country was founded upon.

You're about right on, with an exception..

I think that BO will divorce Moochelle in 2017-18. He'll then make a few million selling the rights to "My Life As The First Black President, Volume I", and go on the worldwide golf tour / lecture circuit - reading a teleprompter to adoring psycophants (what he *truly* does best) for 50 grand a pop.

He also might gig at ABCCBSNBCCNN as a talking head political commentator. Again...lookig good for a camera and reading a teleprompter, what he does best.

That is a common problem for libs. They have a world model in their heads that is quite erroneous, and therefore are disappointed when things don’t turn out according to their unrealistic model, which happens frequently.

What’s doubly hilarious is Remnick appearing only on Morning Joe, a show with viewership 1/3 of Fox. It’s as if he’s too hip for us clingers who watch Fox & Friends.

1,000 more days of this narcissistic turd.

***************

Regardless of the issue at hand, Obama is a pathological narcissist who always finds a way to weave in self-referential comments so that he is at the center of everything. Unfortunately people with messianic complexes like him refuse to live in anonymity. He will be an ever present thorn in the side for whomever is the next president. Obama will not just go away.
