Watching CNN continue to breathe life into this thing is like watching a doctor on Greys Anatomy pounding on a patient's chest until another doctor has to pull him off and say, Derek its over! Thats what I want to say to Wolf Blitzer. Wolf, its over! Time to move on! There will be other ocean disasters. We will always have Atlantis.
That was Bill Maher joking about CNN's obsession over missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. On Saturday night comedian Joel McHale also mocked CNN's Flight 370 coverage by observing, "This is the 100th year of the White House Correspondents Association. Yes, 100 years ago CNN was only searching for the Wright brothers plane." The unsmiling reaction from Wolf Blitzer in the audience showed that he was clearly not amused. After all this mockery you would figure that CNN would cut back on its Flight 370 coverage. Well, from analyzing CNN's coverage of Flight 370 in the two days since the White House Correspondents Association Dinner it turns out that their coverage on this topic continues unabated. CNN Newsroom on Sunday must have known about the mockery since they reported on McHale's performance:

Anything to allow them to cover something other than Ben and his Friend Ghazi...
As long as they have Flight 370, they won’t have to cover the ObamaCare, Benghazi and IRS scandals. A 370 a day keeps the smidgens away.
You can sort of understand how they completely misinterpreted their over-coverage as what they should do.
For the first month they had the story. Everyone else was simply touching base, CNN did in fact run completely with this story.
I watched CNN quite a bit for that first month. However they didn’t find the plane.
I haven’t turned the channel on for almost a month now. Just for a fleeting glimpse to see whether they were still running coverage, which immediately landed on the other over-covered story: the racial outrage about the sports owner.
Who the heck cares?
Sure the airline story will break wide open if it’s located, but at this point cover real news.
(boring)
CNN?? They are STILL on the air? I’m shocked...shocked I tell you.
CNN is just doing their part to keep the Obama scandals out of their daily coverage - mockery is just a small price to pay for their larger goal of protecting the Won. Pawns in the larger game of chess as it were.....
I don’t know what the big deal is. History Channel has non-stop Swamp People to get ratings. Science channel shows the most non-scientific psuedo-science half the time. If CNN wants to focus on the missing airliner to get ratings why is that so obnoxious?
If they couldn’t continue with Flight 370, then they’d have to [ooga booga] cover the Benghazi emails. It’s what the White House Talking Points Fax Machine demands!
CNN are good foot soldiers for the DNC.
There’s always Amelia Earhart. Plus there’s the woman angle. Sexist plane failed her no doubt.
Because ‘History’ is not discussion and examination of intimately relevant current events such as the coverup of Benghazi. Likewise, an organization masquerading itself as a ‘news organization’ continuing to cover a dead story in the face of compelling evidence of Administration-wide collusion and cover up is what ‘news’ is all about.
I guess it seems if it’s not Republicans and the chance to squirrel “Watergate” but involves this poser President and his ilk in their devolution of this country it isn’t ‘obnoxious’, huh?
It sounds like someone is actually forcing you to watch CNN or something. If Fox does the same I’d get upset but if CNN wants to be all about missing airlines or Justine Beiver it doesn’t bother me in the slightest, not even if their change in programming actually gets results.
The plane is most likely someplace where no expects it to be, which means that it will be found only after people stop looking for it.
They are hoping to drag 370 out until November.
