You know what? My initial reaction without giving it serious thought or researching House protocol/precedent is that I’m fine with an evenly split panel. We want the truth, whatever it takes to get it and wherever it leads.

Boehner could put Trey Gowdy up there alone with all Democrats and I’d still be confident that Gowdy can handle it.

I reserve the right to give it a second thought.

even split is just a code for deadlocked. Remember it will be cochairs, TWO contradicting reports, a tie means no findings AT ALL.

it is a trap

When democrats were in power, did they split the committee 50/50? We should be as fair as they were.
