Trey Gowdy, not your father’s investigation committee chairman
Powerline ^ | May 5, 2014 | Paul Mirengoff

Gowdy breaks the mold for chairman of a big ticket investigative committee. The typical chairman is a stern but somewhat subdued father figure — think Sen. Inouye of Iran Contra fame — or a venerable, or at least folksy, grandfather figure — think Sen. Ervin of Watergate fame. The old-fashioned chairman may press witnesses, but will leave the true attack dog stuff to counsel or colleagues.

Gowdy won’t cut it as a father or grandfather figure and he will be neither subdued nor folksy. He will likely be his own attack dog.

What difference does it make? Looks like nobody’s going to show up to be questioned.

I don’t see much reason to get excited about Lindsey’s nephew.

I see this as a test of Gowdy. We'll see where he's at. Will he do more than just play the game? If people won't testify, will he get some researchers on it, globally, and get to the truth? Will he make no compromises or allowances with those who covered up or their supporters? How about calling some complicit Republicans to testify and if some RINOs are involved with terrorists, go after them, too?

We'll get to see what his instincts are. We'll see how he reacts to pressure, ridicule, and verbal abuse.

So I'll withold judgement either way. Let actions speak instead of words.

The major advantage I see for the democrats is they will know to an extent what questions will be asked and can warn their fellow criminals how to get their lies straight.
I hope dems sit it out in fear of upcoming elections, without their constant interruptions and fact twisting and subject changes we may get the truth.
Take off the gloves Trey, this may be our last chance for change WE can believe in.

John McCain. His association with terrorists in Syria would make him an interesting source of where those weapons might have been headed.

I believe he’s talking about McCain, but I’m not sure.

I’m always amused by Powerline.

Nowhere in this article does it mention find the truth.

Americans must know the truth.

May you find the truth TG!

You opine, re Gowdy:”We’ll get to see what his instincts are. We’ll see how he reacts to pressure, ridicule, and verbal abuse.

So I’ll withold judgement either way. Let actions speak instead of words.”

You been on vacation for a couple years? WAtch the MANY YouTube clips on Gowdy’s bull dog questioning. He’s a consummate prosecutor - and he does not suffer fools gladly.

He’s a reluctant politician - would rather be back home with family and own career. That’s a rarity and a big plus.

Maybe take a bit of time and do some research?

many more clips available - I hope that Freepers, of all people, will not project defeat aforehand...especially when not doing due diligence research on the subject/person first?

Slow down....I'm very aware of Gowdy's reputation and promise. I thought he was a question mark about the invasion of the USA, but in actual actions he seems great.

We've been disappointed so many times. The DC smog gets to so many politicians with promise. I don't disbelieve what you say about Gowdy: now he will show us his instincts and strength of commitment. I hope you're correct.

FYI:

Walid Shoebat is going to be on the Michael Savage Radio show in the next hour to discuss Benghazi, the Muslim Brotherhood and the Obama Administration. Listen local or you can find a link online to listen live.
