Don’t be sorry. You probably should never have heard of her. She’s famous only for her drug use. I don’t even know why I know who she is. (:
We are told that marijuana is a health drug but that even very mild stimulants are somehow a great danger. There is probably little or no scientific evidence to back up either of those claims.

I admit that I, along with many others back in the 60s, resorted to taking a Dexamyl (amphetamine sulfate) two or three times a year at quarterly exams in order to stay alert while preparing.
For me, it did an amazing job at helping me to concentrate, as well as stay awake.
I can not imagine ANYONE wanting to take it for a buzz, or any other purpose. It is a bit of a downer, and complicates getting back to a normal schedule when wearing off.

It does, at that.
Why do you think they call it higher education?
The Delta House boys were taking speed for their tests in Animal House (which was based on early 60s college experiences)
It’s nothing new.
The military also has used “performance enhancing drugs” in combat.
It “won’t help” if you didn’t learn the facts, the theory, or the mathematics for the test.
If you did learn the material, you may have a performance edge (faster ability to recall the details/do the work, sharper memory, etc.).
