With Mother's Day around the corner, more than 100 members of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, gun violence survivors and advocates from across the country descended upon Washington, D.C. today for the second annual 'Moms Take the Hill' event to call on our nation's leaders to address the national gun violence epidemic that kills 86 Americans every day. Moms and survivors from across the country Arkansas, Arizona, California, Georgia, Florida, Indiana, Massachusetts, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Tennessee and Virginia are meeting with over three dozen members of Congress to discuss common-sense gun reform and why we must close the loopholes in our federal law that make it easy for criminals, domestic abusers and stalkers to get their hands on guns.

Why don’t these people ever “descend” on the neighborhoods with the greatest levels of violence of all kinds - guns, knives, the “knockout game”, ...? Because, at heart, they are cowards who look to others for protection.
How many of those 86 killed everyday are killed by the youth gangs and drug dealers who plague our inner cities?
It stuns me that in talking of gun control, we never hear anyone decry the gun violence of the youth gangs. Instead we magnify events such as somebody going into a movie theater with a gun, or a school, as if they are the everyday gun crimes which kill so many people.
Too bad there aren’t people who have had their lives saved because of a ‘gun’, that will do this same thing. They don’t get enough media.
In fact they get less if anything.
With Mizzzzzzz O'Donuts it's the old "guns for me but none for thee".
A whole hundred? A typical kegger party on any college campus draws a lot more than that.
Probably too busy working for a living. If we/they had their own nannie bloomers footin’ the bill, they might show up. Sadly, I don’t think the evil Koch brothers are in to this issue. Of course that won’t stop hairy reid-iculous from blaming them for the “proliferation” of guns in this country.
Gee, “more than 100 members decended on Washington.”
I, myself, could get more people than that to “descend on Washington” by summoning UFO searchers in aluminum beanies.
This reminds me to pick up Mrs. VanShuyten’s Mother’s Day present from Blue Ridge Arsenal.
Me likey.

While hiring armed security to keep them safe.
I demand action too. I demand that Bloomberg stop pimping gun control and telling us it's a grassroots movement.
Wonder how many female “protectors” they hired?
One of the folks over at Ace of Spades referred to them as “Moms Demand Attention” on their podcast. I suggest we all start using that.
Maybe we can rally SAMM to counter them. (Shooter Against Mad Mothers)
That should be Shooter Against Mad Mothers In Cases of Handguns (SAMMICH).
