Obamacare Spawning 'Medical Homelessness' [can't find doctor]Crisis
Brietbart ^ | 20 April 2014 | Wynton Hall

California Obamacare enrollees are struggling to find doctors who accept their newly purchased health insurance plans.

UCSF Dr. Kevin Grumbach calls the phenomenon "medical homelessness."

CBS San Francisco says that many of the health care clinics for low-income individuals that helped people enroll in Obamacare are now seeing those same people "coming back to the clinic begging for help."

"They're coming back to us now and saying, 'I can't find a doctor,'" Rotacare clinic staffer Mirella Nguyen told CBS San Francisco. "What good is coverage if you can't use it?"

The problem stems from Obamacare's "narrow networks" – extreme restrictions on access to doctors and hospitals in an effort to cut costs.

CBS San Francisco reports that "Experts said the magnitude of the problem is growing, and will soon be felt by all Californians."

Californians are not the only ones coming to terms with the reality of Obamacare's narrow networks.

Concerns that Obamacare's narrow networks would spawn a medical homelessness crisis have been building for months. The Washington Post warned in January that "Obamacare's narrow networks are going to make people furious."

When I checked the source, I knew it couldn’t be from the MSM.

The term “homeless” hasn’t been used by the MSM since Jan 2009.

I was thinking since most don’t work, they should put up tents outside the WH and get angry that they were lied to.

Well, you must admit, that this saves insurance companies and society BIG MONEY. So, maybe I’ll get my $2500 of savings after all...because there won’t be any way to spend money on care.

Or, more likely, not...

Just keep paying those premiums, folks ..... hundreds a month depending on your ‘subsidy’, good for one insurance card. Doctor? What doctor? You’re paying for INSURANCE, not actual medical care ..... Obama lies, you know.

Great for insurance companies. They rake in the premiums from the client AND the premium subsidy from the Treasury ... but they don’t have to pay out for care because there is no care!

What a deal!

I am having surgery tomorrow. Everyone, (attending, surgeon, gas passer, facility and pharmhey) has already called me for payment or to set up payment plans. Never happened in 50 years.

They were going to cancel my surgery if I didn’t pay something. And I have a top of the line insurance policy. What makes this worse is the same people have been treating me for 5 years and I never had outstanding debt and I had the same insurance policy.

Welcome to the new America.

I am having trouble feeling sorry for Californians who are suffering from the policies they voted to enact.

...he discovered that the closest dentist who accepted the required dental plan he was forced to purchase for his children was over 100 miles away.

And remember, Californians are going to start paying road taxes by the mile.

why is this a surprise?

Obamacare deals only with health insurance.

It has nothing in it to actually access to health care.

Terrible situation. Hope your surgery is successful, no matter who ends up paying for it.

Yep, for the first time in my adult life, (and I'm 70 years) I'm going to have to pay out of pocket to see the doctor I want to see because they don't accept Medicare or any insurance.

Thanks Obama!! American's healthcare system is well on its way to being wrecked.

If someone is in an Obamacare plan and can’t find a doctor they like nearby or a specialist in their area, can they pay cash for care outside of the network?

Anyone who believes Obama is out to help people is dumber than a bag of dirt.

If he truly wanted to help the uninsured, he would have offered Obamacare as an option.

He didn't do that. He made everyone's current insurance ILLEGAL, which rendered them uninsured. And since everything else is illegal the only choice is to go on his doofus plan which hospitals and doctors are not taking.

Obamacare is a way station on the way to single payer.
With them in charge.
Deciding who gets treatment and who does not.
Depending if you are of use to the party or not.
