The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City has named its collection of used clothesa sort of consignment shop one must pay to enter and where nothing is for saleafter Anna Wintour. A trustee of the Met since 1999, the editor of Vogue, artistic director of Condé Nast, and inspiration for The Devil Wears Prada has over the years raised some $125 million for the museum. Earlier this week, at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Anna Wintour Costume Center, Michelle Obama delivered a speech. Never have I read one quite like it. The first ladys presence at the occasion was no surprise. Some of Anna Wintours favorite charities, after all, are the Democratic Party and the career of Michelle Obamas husband. Since 2004, every cent of Wintours political contributions$114,750 in totalhas gone to Democratic candidates and to Democratic groups, including to the DNC, to Hillary Clinton, and to Barack Obama.
As a bundler for Obama, Wintour has raised a total of $5,448,371 over the course of two presidential campaigns. In 2012 she co-hosted, with the actress Sarah Jessica Parker, a New York City fundraiser for the president to which some lucky commoners were also invited. Dinner cost $40,000 a plate. Start saving now, and you may be able to attend the next dinner. It is likely to take place in the summer of 2016, for Wintour has said that she wants to see President Hillary Clinton on the cover of Vogue.

Shame, guilt and embarrassment are unknown to people like this.
All they focus on is Power and what will get them more of it.
When one takes a tasteless oaf and makes them first lady they remain a tasteless oaf!!!
I always remember Gore lecturing us on Global Warming from his giant mansion and fancy SUVs while I think Bush had a house about 2400 sq ft and drove natural gas adapted trucks on his ranch. Gore talked about it; Bush lived it.
I remember when Bush showed his new house to Oprah. It was filled with books and had a very simple décor, nothing fancy or elaborate at all, mostly white and fairly stark. You could see it in her eyes. “This is the house of a president? I don’t really understand this.”
Now when the Obamas leave DC (if they leave together) my guess is their house will be full of the expensive gaudy bling the fashion types approve of. And they will think themselves superior because if it, and view it as “getting back”. After all, look at how Michelle indulged herself in luxurious vacations other people paid for because she “deserved it”. A million dollars for an extra plane trip for her birthday? What of it? Not her money. She’s owed. As far as she’s concerned, it’s free.
When people tell me, oh you don’t know what she thinks, I say, I do, because look how she behaves with other peoples money. Watching what she does is very revealing.
At the center of the most vicious hate is the anger that your inappropriate lifestyle is not approved of by people that you feel think they are above you. You make them pay.
Secretary of State Collin Powell expressed it best: “plantation envy”.
Straight out of Atlas Shrugged.
It’s called “acting GHETTO”
Like many conservatives, being considerate of the environment is just naturally inside them because of the personal responsibility that we feel and do best, rather than forcing the "collective". Nobody has to shame us into it - we just don't like being lectured by Hollywood hypocrites. My guess is the O's end up huge energy wasters just like Gore and so many other limo libs -their idea of "green" is forcing other people to do it, then they get in their private jets.
The house Obama finagled in Chicago. Looks really "green" to me.
