“You’ve got no cop to hang here, so you’ve got to change the subject. Pathetic.”

That is a typical tactic used by left wing community organizers, mainly in the black communities, as a way of “stirring the pot” and getting people roused up.

It’s the lefts tactic of creating “group think”.

Go through and read some of the other post and you will see the pattern.

It’s an attempt by the left to make it appear as if “right wing extremist” as they like to call us, are violent anti police.

Cop & Deceased

Had the cop been black, or the victim whom shot at the cop, white, There would not be masses of people gathering clammering for a fight. This is faux outrage ONLY based on skin color, not the real story.

stirring up the natives?

Don't worry about it none.

City Manager Pee Wee Drake be on the case. City Council to vote on paying The Reverend Al Sharpton's travel expenses and speaker's honorarium.

That’s the part that jumped out at me too, he called the cops, idiot. She was upset, just leave and let her cool down.

It sounds like the old lady was irrational, perhaps had dementia, Alzheimer’s. She failed her driver’s test. Why? Bad eyesight? Perhaps her doctor had ordered her to retest for some reason. Maybe it was just time to renew. Did she have to take a drive in the car or was the test simply written or visual? I don’t know, but for some reason, she failed the test.

It is understandable that the nephew might think that taking her car keys was appropriate. Sounds like she had indicated that she’d keep on driving with our without a license and the nephew decided that it was time to keep her from driving both for her own safety and the safety of others.

If the old lady was firing off shots, she was clearly not in her right mind, whether because of a temper tantrum or dementia. Acting out does not give her a free pass to shoot whomever she pleases, or to endanger others. The officer shot her and for all we know, she kept shooting. We don’t know how close she came to hitting anybody, or how close her house was to other houses or how many bystanders were looking on. All we know is that the officer apparently thought it better to shoot her than let her go on shooting until she either ran out of bullets or hurt someone.

I know an elderly woman (90 years old) with Alzheimer’s and can tell you that they can throw temper tantrums, lash out in ways one might find appalling and frightening. There are even reports of Alzheimer’s patients killing people that they knew and loved. The woman I know was convinced that she could drive, knew where to go, etc. Some days are good, and some are apparently terrible.

I am sad for the people involved, for the family of the woman and for the officer who has to live with the shooting, regardless of whether or not it was appropriate. If the woman was ill, and I’m guessing that at the very best she was not clear headed—going off on her nephew with a gun is a good indication— then who knows what she might have done if not stopped. It’s sad, but before we condemn the officer, we need the full story, including the previous mental status of the dead woman.

Yep. Cops investigating cops is a big mistake and conflict of interest, but if this story is legitimate it’s a good shooting.

Senile old ladies need medical intervention. Wait until she forgets or goes to sleep.

Look, .38 is an underpowered round. Cops wear ballistic armor. If you can’t take a few puny .38 rounds from a feeble 93 year old lady, you have NO business being a cop. He should have waded in there and plucked the gun out of the lady’s hand.

Come on..... Do minimal research on the poor old woman, then come back with what “inheritance” she may have ever accumulated.

I am as pro gun as anyone on FR, but randomly firing a pistol is unsafe for everyone, not just ones in the room.

The pistol firing is the apex of the event. The nephew had the chance to de-escalate and chose to escalate. He needed to give granny time to accept the result. He could have been non confrontational but decided to have it out right then. He should have let granny cool down. I would have eased her into it. I don’t fault the cop. I feel bad for him. He had no choice.

” A preliminary autopsy shows Golden was shot twice in the body and grazed by a third bullet, Robertson County District Attorney Coty Siegert has said.”

“Siegert told the station that because the case is still under investigation, he could neither confirm nor deny that Golden fired her gun.”

““She did have a gun. … Now, what she was doing with it, that is the ultimate question,” said Siegert.”

“Robertson County District Attorney Coty Siegert could not confirm any evidence existed indicating Golden had fired her weapon, but said it was too early in the investigation to rule out the possibility”

“Stephen Stern (pictured inset) who fired five shots at her while he was responding to an emergency call about a woman wielding a gun.”

“Now folks in the predominantly Black Texas town are up in arms questioning why would any law enforcement agent shoot an elderly woman repeatedly and not resort to other means to get her to put down her weapon,”

“When Stem and another officer arrived, he asked the elderly woman to put down her weapon. When she refused, and allegedly continued to wave the gun, he shot her.”

“Candles left in vigil remained outside her home two days after the shooting. Foster and others said she lived alone and that her husband had been a Hearne police officer himself.”

” Hearne police have said in a statement that Golden “brandished a firearm.”

This is the key, “brandished a firearm.”. Now the police can Kill You. Does it matter that it’s a 93 year old lady? Of course it does! Maybe she was a relative of Bonnie Parker, but it’s unlikely. COMMON SENSE, seems to be lacking in too many LEOs. Green light to shoot, so I shoot seems to be the procedure too often followed.

They aimed their car in my direction....Green light to shoot, so I shoot.

The dog barked at me......Green light to shoot, so I shoot.

Suspect (innocent until proven guilty) of police shooting crashes car after chase. Car wedged not movable. Green light to shoot, so I shoot. Massive gunfire by many officers. Pause, officer orders occupants to raise their hands over their heads. Driver (who is already shot) tries to comply, officers see movement....Green light to shoot, so I shoot. A total of 337 bullets (I think, over 300 anyway) The perp and an innocent passenger are killed (murdered). Three police officers are also shot, by other police officers, in the crossfire. (circular firing squad).

If you are “suspected” of shooting a police officer, it’s WAY MORE than a green light. It’s permission to become judge, jury, and executioner for all police officers.

The police are OUT OF CONTROL. Start sending these dangerous cops to prison and see how fast things change.

“The most important thing to know is, at this point we do not know.”

Exactly correct. The Nephew, given his involvement, certainly has a motive to make it look like a good shoot.

Very few 93 year olds commit murder. It is extremely rare.

Did Jones also live there?

This needs to be investigated by an external agency to make sure this story checks out.

The Texas Rangers are on it.

There’s still more of the story to go around, I think.
