Yes, because we know only a loudmouth who likes to run his mouth would say, “Screw you and the horse you rode in on.”

Oh, wait...

re: goals of Kiev

I assumed that the temporary gov was inept beyond comprehension. But you bring up an interesting hypothesis.

What about the IMF money, given to a gov that probably didn't have the authority to put Ukraine in debt? There's at the very least some question if it's a legitimate government. What about Ukraine's gold and other assets? Is the real interest keeping all of that for those now in power? If they can't be voted out or there isn't an election, what are the odds of the people of Ukraine ever seeing that wealth again?

I'm reading this thread in morbid fascination. So many US citizens fought in WWII, proudly, for one reason....to stop Hitler. Defending Nazis doesn't play real well in the US. What's the point of that?

Who in this thread is defending Nazis? Post your evidence.

“Russia is corrupt. Ukraine is a little bit more corrupt.”

Ukraine has been a semi-fallen mafia state mainly due to Russian influence over there. Most people don't know that but vast majority of post-Soviet space stayed under control of Kremlin, the only post-soviet countries which shook it off for good are Baltics (largely due to NATO and EU membership, EUnuchs are shit but compared to being in Russian sphere of influence it is a huge improvement) Georgia and Moldova have been trying but haven't succeed yet, Ukraine is trying to do it now and Kremlin is furious. Others are either run by Soviet clowns or by mafia types or both (that shithole in Moldova is a good example). Russia has been installing and supporting corrupted regimes across post-soviet territories for the past +20 years, that is simply the Russian way, Russian influence over Ukraine made it to look like Russia just without oil & gas revenues, basically what Russia looked like in 90’s before the oil & gas prices surged.

To many in eastern Europe the Soviets in general and the Russians in particular were not Liberators, no matter how much Hitler was no better, or even worse, in many respects.

To many in eastern Europe the Soviets did not end the brutal Russian empire but extended it, to their loss. To such, ANYONE who helped them against the Russians/Soviets would have been a Liberator and many locals would have joined ANYONE opposing the Russians/Soviets continued domination of them. That is simply honest nationalism and normal world history of people making alliances of convenience for their own interests and not necessarily the interest of those whom they make those alliances with.

The aggressors he was speaking of was not the Soviets, but Hitler. The first line and second lines, omitted by RT, clearly show that he was talking about Hitler, due to his calling it the 'Great Patriotic War' and he talks about the aggressors 'who tried to seize the land'. Ukraine was already part of the Soviet Union at the time, so obviously the aggressor spoken of in this context is Hitler. RT spins 'aggressors' as meaning 'Soviet'

Thanks for the post, CD.

RT is a dangerous propaganda tool.

They were just as brutal, and more, than the Nazi’s were.

I actually knew a woman who had the misfortune to be a Ukrainian who was in both Soviet and Nazi camps. At the time she was a mother with a young child. "Baba" said the Soviets were worse. A Nazi actually saved her daughter (who is, I believe, alive today) from an accidental drowning in the camp.

She definitely had issues after the war. SERIOUS hoarding problem (cereal boxes, etc.).
