Obama Puts Solar Panels on Roof of the White House

Well it seems the President is still trying to keep up appearances. This week the Obama administration completed the installation of new solar panels on top of the White House.

It was almost 30 years ago that Reagan removed the solar panels that Jimmy Carter had built on top of the president’s residence, but shockingly enough, President Obama has once again ruined everything Reagan created. This is a reminder to the American people that President Obama is supposed to be a big proponent of stopping climate change.

According to a White House spokesman,

“Continuing President Obama’s commitment to lead by example to increase the use of clean energy in the U.S., the White House has completed installation of American-made solar panels on the first family’s residence as a part of an energy retrofit that will improve the overall energy efficiency of the building.

The project, which helps demonstrate that historic buildings can incorporate solar energy and energy efficiency upgrades, is estimated to pay for itself in energy savings over the next eight years.”

Apparently this is just one of the many steps Obama plans to take in order to make voters think that he is truly dedicated to helping the environment. He might as well be saying to the people, “Remember, I am not a lame duck!”

I was just thinking about that while reading that Carter turned down the thermostat and put on a sweater.

“—Solar panels on the roof are a danger to firefighters...impeding access to a fire and/or contribute to accidental electrocution.”

Good lord,I did not know that. Why is installing them there even allowed?

Obama is an idiot.

That's redundant.

Trashing the White House roof area is sacrilege.

It's like the Pope putting black solar panels on the the domed roof of the Sistine Chapel at St. Peter's.

I hope the next Republican president takes them down like Pres. Reagan did after that grits-for-brains, Carter, blemished the same roof with these ugly slabs of metal and plastic.

Obama, a tasteless clod, is mentally ill....and just wait for what's coming his final two years. Maybe a re-cycling dump for old metal cans in the Rose Garden.

Solar panels will be the crowning achievement of his administration. Quite literally.

Obama, a tasteless clod...

A lovely turn of phrase! All of our elected officials are tasteless clods. Obama is King Clod.

At least Carter came from a farming family with the obligatory thriftiness. This fool is a whole new breed of narcissist debauchery. And a vindictive metro sexual pansy to boot.

Well, since this is government property and public money is being spent for the “upgrades,” I think it’s only fitting that the White House put a cost meter on its web site. They could start the meter at a dollar figure representing the cost of installing these panels. The meter could count down as electricity produced by the panels is consumed (and go back up when there are maintenance costs). This way the American people can see when these units pay for themselves. What do they have to hide? If solar makes sense, then lets use this project to prove the point.

“Seems like it would be wiser to outfit Michelle with panels...”

And one of those cow fart-bag methane collectors! Held on by a boob-belt!

The solar panels are a direct offset for the carbon footprint created by Moochele’s hair straightener.

Just happened in Philly this week all on fire and had to collapse the roof because no one could enter building due to pending roof collapse! Lucky no one in there. This was a large building!

He should be FORCED by historical and preservation groups, conservative radio talk show gurus and public opinion to PROVE that the panels present no fire hazard to this historical building.

I was just reading up on "solar panels" and one sentence stood out...."solar panels have a tendency to overheat and great care must be taken to prevent this problem."
