Krauthammer: I Hope Pelosi Decides Not To Put Dems On The Panel So The GOP Can Focus
Real Clear Politics ^ | May 9, 2014

CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: I don't think you have to have a committee of seven experts. I think it is good to choose people who will not seek the limelight. The most important thing here is that the legitimacy of the committee will not come from the composition, but will come from its results. So, the Democrats imagine that if they boycott it will delegitimize it and the results will be ignored. Perhaps initially, but all the committee has to do is to discover new facts as we discovered a week and a half ago with the [Ben] Rhodes memo and that you cannot ignore.

So I hope that Pelosi decides that she does not want to be an accomplice to the sideshow and withholds Democratic members. It won't affect the result, but what it will do, it will allow the Republicans to follow up in their questions in a coherent way without being interrupted by Democrats hurling softballs or making speeches that are ways to essentially exonerate the administration.

Like he had a choice?

You are a good guy Laz. But sometimes peoples feet need to be held to the fire, not just easily overlooked.

Then don’t complain when you get more of it.

I won’t. Krauthammer is doing battle and he is on our side.

Eisenhower and Marshall didn’t send Patton home when he made a mistake in Sicily. You would have probably fired Patton.

Krauthammer believes that the media and the democrats can't ignore facts. Wonder what planet he's been living on the last half century.

Boxer is an embarrassment to America exceeded pretty much only by pelosi and O. I hope they all retire ASAP ( and stay Away from the limelight, USA certainly doesn’t need three more jimmy Carter’s to keep on yakking senseless drivel for years and years)

Ike did and it was right. But he encouraged him to fight another day. He used constructive criticism.

I get the impression that you are a one issue voter...if you don’t like 100% of a candidate, you sit out an election.

I think when Jimmy Carter (finally) crosses over, his funeral will be one of the most sparsely attended ever. If it’s soon, Obama will probably send Susan Rice or John Kerry, two lobotomized Paid Liars who show the bare minimum of compasion or human like behavior.

Today’s Dems don’t have much use for Carter either, because he’s always a critic or back seat driver. I suspect the largest contingent at the Carter Services will be ambassadors from Venezuela, Boliva and Zimbabwe. Barbra Bush may go to stand next to Mrs. Carter, or she may talk one of her sons into going, since Obama won’t and Michelle is getting her nails done that day in preparation for another vacation to Rome.

I never sit out elections and have plenty of issues. The gay thing, Amnesty, landuse, being lied to by members of my own political affiliation, Investigations that go nowhere.

And I am sick to death of talking head hero worship or anything close to it. People seem to think they are some sort of Savants that are immune from being criticized or being held accountable. they are not.

Sure, everyone makes mistakes. You want to tell me with a straight face that someone of his income and education makes a ‘mistake’ that the newest freeper wouldn’t?

Lindsay Ghramm is ‘right’ on a lot of his votes but works like a dog behind the scenes to sabotage conservatives. For Chuck to sit there and tell the world that Bhenghazi was over while everything under the sun proved ‘over’ wasn’t in the same universe is a little more that a slip up. It was a last ditch effort to assure Bhoner wouldn’t have to do the committee.

I appreciate your points. But to say Krauthammer could influence Boner is a stretch.

Have a good rest of the weekend.

Someone remind Charles that this issue is over. He seems confused about his statements.

He was right a month ago, and he is right today.

I don’t know why that made me laugh, but it did. Maybe at the service, there will be a vendor like at a ball game; Get Your Hot Georgia Peanuts! Two bags for five Dollars, Presidential Peanuts!”

I don’t know. But Charles said it was last week.

It was. Then. Charles calls them as he sees them.

But now that the House at long last seems intent on a proper investigation, it won't be over until it's really over.

And hopefully, they'll also appoint a select committee to investigate Lois Lerner and the IRS.

Carter has been such an embarrassment to USA it’s beyond description. Not to mention all the damage he did in office. Satan will probably have a special locked room just for jimmy, so he can’t screw up Hell like he screwed up America. Even the devil has his standards to maintain, after all. And satan will feed him peanuts through a little hole in the wall. All peanuts. 24/7/365.

It was over last week? Really? And then the Blue Fairy went POOF! with her magic wand and just like that, it was there again! And all the happy children had cookies and played board games!

It was never over last week. For the love of God....

More or less. With John Boehner in the role of the Blue Fairy.

It was over until the House finally got the cojones to prosecute it properly, and Dr K was merely assessing the situation as it then stood.

But it wasnt. WE out here in reality SAW nothing happening. But that committee was being debated/argued/fought over for months non stop. By definition it wasn’t over. It was never over. There was always something going on. It was being actively discussed in the news, on the web, in bars and churches and in DC. Not for a nanosecond was it ever, ever over.

But that aside, Who is some talking head to make that statement? He is a guy on TV. That’s all he is. He has an opinion no wiser or more relevant than yours or mine. That’s what I find so frustrating. People put all this faith and trust into what? a TV personality?

Few here would say CK was any greater authority than Rush and Rush himself, numero uno on the charts freely says he is an entertainer. CK may have a degree in whatever. So did Jon Kerry, Edwards and any random Democrat. -To quote Brietbart...SO?

He was either flat wrong in the face of all evidence to the contrary or he intentionally lied. OR he trying to help it BE over to benefit someone. There is no other conclusion to draw. 99%mof FR knew that WHATEVER was going to happen, it wasn’t ‘over’ so he has no excuse. After the fact explanations he gives miss the point. His ‘job’ such as it is, is an expert. Well, the expert blew it. And what purpose does an expert serve when he can’t make a determination obvious to 99% of posters on an average joe political website? Seriously. He;d be fired in business for blowing a call that bad.

But as a hero of the right, he has job security. And just calling him out on it gets people frazzled. Why? Why is he immune?

He’s not. And it ain’t his first trip over the fence.

That question makes no sense at all. You mean someone has to be a freeper for a while to be smart? That’s an arrogant attitude.
