Eric Cantor’s wake-up call at the Virginia Republican District Convention

WASHINGTON, May 10, 2014 – Saturday morning dawned for what should have been a great day for Virginia Congressman Eric Cantor. With the Democrats holding all five of Virginia’s state wide offices, Cantor is arguably the top Republican. He is the Majority Leader in the House of Representatives and has fought his Republican opponents with the tenacity of TV’s fictional congressman Frank Underwood.

Cantor’s home base is Virginia’s 7th Congressional District. That district covers some of the suburbs of Richmond before heading north and almost touching the suburbs of Washington.

Every two years, each Republican District holds a District Convention. The most important business and sometimes the only business of the District Convention is to select the District Chairman. That is an important position as the District Chairman has a significant influence over the politics of the district.

A better example of "the Tea Party rising" ping ...

A conservative insurgency in Eric Cantor’s district defeated his chairman on Saturday. The question now is, will Cantor suffer the same fate in June.

One thing we can be sure of is that Cantor will still be around in January 2015 continuing his awful “leadership”.

He still has a Primary to deal with...and a strong opponent.

I hate to put it this way, but I am CONVINCED that Cantor’s fate is the fate of the country.

It goes like this: If Cantor does well in his Primary on June 10th, then we WILL have a MASS AMNESTY and the millions of newly-minted Democrats will simply out vote us. Game over for this country being a 2-party state, for generations.

However, if Cantor loses, or almost loses, then ALL BETS ARE OFF. Sure, he’ll want to get Amnesty through as a “going-away present” to the Republican base, but will he be able to? He would need to find something like 16 Republicans to follow him - and while some may be pre-disposed to do so, they will think MUCH HARDER knowing that a vote for Amnesty may assure them defeat in their next Primary.

In other words, a LAME DUCK Cantor may just not succeed in getting through his plan to turn this country into a one-party (i.e., Democrat-run) country.

The stakes are HUGE on June 10th, when Cantor’s Primary takes place.

David Brat sounds like a much better alternative to Eric Cantor:

If Cantor wins the primary, I would vote for the Democrat to oust Idiot Cantor and cause some RINO alarms to sound out.

Cantor is the Republican version of Al Gore.

An idiot who thinks he’s a genius and has to talk down to everyone around him, most all of whom recognize his imbecility.

Phony mewling butt-kissing liar.

I don’t think he has a Democratic opponent, thankfully.

If, Cantor were to lose it surely would send one hell of a strong message that the Tea Party isn’t quite dead yet!

June 10th.

I have the opportunity to vote for Dave Brat!

Who else is with me?

If you can’t vote - donate.

I would do the same. But I read in a different article that there is not even a Democrat on the ticket in this district.

Yes. That is the lie that gOpE and the liberals want us to believe. However ...

Ben Sasse will definitively put an end to the gOpE gloating on Tuesday.
