And they don't care whether the food they do get is GMO or not. That is the point I was making.

Feel free to go eat your vat grown beef.

I prefer something grown naturally. I demand that I have that choice.

Sure they do. Most people around the world know that factory food is a path to poor health and corruption of the body.

You may not get that choice. If the beef you eat was fed GM corn does it contaminate the beef? Is that going to be a problem? Because it's going to be darn difficult in the real world to prove the hamburger you are eating didn't eat a few quarts of GM corn.

Right, and the states have the power and right to do such things. That power was reserved for them as they are closer to the people.

So if the people want it then its their will. Sometimes its good and sometimes its bad.

Point is you’re making the case that we don’t have the right to know whats in our food. That is fundamentally wrong. That it might be difficult for the companies is irrelevant.

Horsecrap. The starving 3rd world children don't care anything at all about your GMO fixation. They just want to eat.

What can you do about it? Even the deer that I eat has probably been noshing on some farmer's Monsanto corn at night.

It actually would be easier and cheaper to have disclosure at your wall outlet showing which electricity was from Renewable or Non-Renewable sources.

Nonsense. The big producers and consumers of agricultural grain and seed oil products know whether or not what they are growing, selling, buying and using in food products and feedlots is GMO or non-GMO.

And if it's all mixed up during storage and transportation, then it's GMO.

Then label the basic products used by many others such as flour, corn meal, seed oil, etc., then the users of those raw materials know whether or not they are using GMO or non-GMO in their products. The reality is probably that most of the large scale production of grain and seed oil crops is now GMO.

So you don't have any solutions, either.

And when everything has a "May Contain GMO ingredients" label.... what value is there in that?

Well intentioned, but useless legislation.

There are plenty of solutions. The first step is deciding not to let the multi-national corporations to call the shots. You know the ones that have made it illegal to own a non-approved seed (e.g. not one of their seeds) in Europe.

The very same ones that are trying to require a permit and registration for backyard gardens here in the US.

Yes, the very same ones who allow their frankenfoods to infest other peoples property and then sue those people.

Hows that for a first step?

Well, I already save my own seed and have for years, and breaking yet another stupid law won't be any stretch, so I guess I'm doing what I can.

“They are mad scientists playing with toys they don’t understand.”

A luddite, it see. Someone afraid of technology they personally do not understand so they shun it. Just like people that shunned electricity, mechanical devices and machinery, and drugs and vaccinations.

You’re a simpleton.

One of my customers is a leader in the field of human genomics research. I speak regularly with their research scientists. Even they admit they only know what small portions of our DNA does. Bits and pieces here and there.

Let alone the DNA of all the different plants and animals they are working with.

Let alone what will happen when they mix the DNA in ways that have never been done before.

So if a guy who’s personal assistant has a PhD in BioChemistry doesn’t know what all the little pieces do just who should we believe?

Luddite indeed, what an idiot you are.

I am dismayed by all of these supporters of governmental intrusion. They throw around terms like “Big Food” and “Evil Corporations”, while knowing nothing about the subtleties of the issue. Just like all the leftists currently controlling both parties. Sheep all around being led to the slaughter.

Just keep repeating, Monsato is my friend. Monsato is good. Its good for a multi-national corporation to control our food supply.

You’ll be a good little subject then.

Seriously your argument is its liberal of us to want to know whats in our food rather then trust the govt regulators to keep us safe?
