That's missing from Art 1, Section 8 in my copy of the Constitution.

One hell of a lot of detail is missing from the Constitution on most any subject you can name.

Like I said, you're talking nonsense and requiring sellers to disclose information to buyers is a legitimate role of government.

FIduciary responsibility is not that simple. Trying to flout such regulations could cost them more goodwill than it would save, and there is no fiduciary responsibility to be unethical.

Making sure that the information that sellers disclose is a legitimate role of government.... ie fraud is illegal.

Forcing companies at gunpoint to divulge whatever information you decide you want today... that isn't.

If it's not authorized in Art 1, Section 8, the congress has no power over it, constitutionally.

Which 5 billion do you want to starve?

I would start with anyone who has the word 'muzlim' attached to their ideology...

All of the natural food we have will reproduce itself...A kernel of corn, an eye of a potato, a seed from a carrot or tomato...Year after year, generation after generation...

The largest seed repository in the world is now owned by Monsanto...It claims that it does sell non GMO seeds to consumers but these seeds are hybrid and won't go beyond 2 years for reproduction...

We are turning the worlds natural food into genetic Frankensteins that will not be able to be reproduced outside of a laboratory...

The Agriculture Dept. has given the creators of these Frankenseeds unlimited free reign to plant anywhere in the U.S. and cross pollination to natural foods from Alfalfa to Sweet Corn to Canola and everything in between is in danger of the cross pollination which will destroy the Earth's ability to produce and reproduce natural food...

Our food supply will be in the hands of a few scientists within big business...NO THANKS...

Virtually all commercial GMOs are engineered to withstand direct application of herbicide and/or to produce an insecticide. Despite biotech industry promises, none of the GMO traits currently on the market offer increased yield, drought tolerance, enhanced nutrition, or any other consumer benefit. From here...

So your 'world starvation scare' is just that...And unwarranted scare...There are millions if not billions of acres that lay idle that could pick up farm production requirements to allay any food shortage problems that may occur in the near future...

It isn't flouting the regulation to put 'May Contain GMO ingredients' on all labels. It's complying. See the peanut butter picture above.

Too late. The genie is out of the bottle. GMO is out there now. It's not going away.

You’re far too late on that one. Do you think sellers wanted to disclose all the ingredients in canned food? Or the Nutrition Facts? Sellers are already required to disclose all sorts of information, as they should be.

And few things would be easier to disclose than GMO or non GMO on most all products. Sellers just don’t want to disclose it because they know a significant number of buyers will not buy GMO, or food that is clearly from China.

Sellers have been required to disclose specific information for many decades. The current argument is simply over what information they should be required to disclose, not IF.

You’re wasting your time and everyone else’s with the Article 1, Section 8 references.

So you aren't a constitutionalist.

How much use will a warning of "May Contain GMO ingredients" be when it's on everything?

You’ll have a few companies who keep GMO out of their products, and they’ll make money.

You are probably right...But that doesn't mean we have to like it or keep quiet about it...

There is talk in some circles that home gardens are going to be outlawed...Saving seeds will be outlawed...

Nothing any more would surprise me...

I believe this year and next will be a turning point for our Country...I believe GMOs will be part of the equation...

Yeah in a 1000 years we’ll have a problem.

Gerber baby food bragged that they were. They went to great lengths to make sure.

Turns out their baby cereal wound up contaminated by a little bit of GM grain and it showed positive on the genetic testing.

Just because they claim it, don't make it so, even if they think it does.

And what if manufacturers likewise put the peanut label on all products? You could say they complied with the law, but they would have made it impossible for those allergic to peanuts to identify the products that put them at risk.

No, but as someone who has raised a lot of food, feeding tens of thousands, I’m very aware of how a decrease in temperatures will affect our food supply.

A bit of trivia; 2014 has been the coldest in US history, breaking earlier 1889 and 2012 records.

We also have more ice at the poles now than at any time since satellite records have been kept.

You really should educate yourself to what they are doing. They are mad scientists playing with toys they don’t understand.

There is talk in some circles that home gardens are going to be outlawed...Saving seeds will be outlawed...

Then I shall be an outlaw. The tobacco I'm growing in my home garden this year is from seed that I saved from previous years.

Same with my most excellent cantaloupe.

The third world is starving because of political corruption, not because they don’t have any food.

Their politicians sell their food and pocket the money.

They do on many products. Some things that don't contain peanuts contains the warning that the food may have been processed on equipment used to process peanuts, wheat, or eggs.

Yes. It makes it meaningless, and the customer can't tell whether they are at risk or not. But that's the law, and that's what they do.

And few things would be easier to disclose than GMO or non GMO on most all products.

It actually would be easier and cheaper to have disclosure at your wall outlet showing which electricity was from Renewable or Non-Renewable sources.

This is a state action, not the federal govt.
