Everyone in this thread could go there and see long line-ups and take hundreds of pictures and video and post it on Twitter, not realizing that in reality that was one of the only poll booths in town. Because that single factor changes everything, and vastly increases the possibility of Russian deception.
Just like a Potemkin town could deceive a tourist, while if said tourist instead decided to sneakily trek across the dozens of other towns in the area, the ability to Potemkinize every town the tourist visits on a whim vastly decreases.
I’ve always thought that there is definitely a restless minority of the East that would like to separate from Ukraine, but the photos and video on Twitter and that you’ve posted don’t in any way change ‘minority’ to ‘majority’.

No, it’s just confirmation bias on your part. I’m using math. If there is eight polling booths in a city of 500,000 people, even if only 20% go to vote, there will be large crowds correlating your photos and video.

In Mariupol, there were 60,000 per polling booth. If there were 20% who went to vote, which is even less than the number cited in polls (including Pew) as wanting to secede, that’s still 12,000 per polling booth. Almost ten times the crowd.

Russian forces have entered Ukraine and taken Ukrainian territory, that is an invasion not a civil war. Putin is using the Russian minority in the Ukraine to try and take even more territory.
Russians living in the Ukraine are showing themselves as thugs daily. I suspect there other Russians living in the Ukraine that are not crazy violent thugs but they are too afraid of the crazy violent Russian thugs to even say anything in opposition.
I have seen Ukrainian forces trying to take back some parts of some Ukrainian cities in the east and having to fight crazy violent Russian thugs and at times try not to engage these thugs but have to defend themselves.
