RNC Spokesman: It's Time for Conservative Journalists to Moderate Some GOP Primary Debates in 2016
Newsbusters ^ | May 11, 2014 | By Tim Graham

Someone in the GOP is starting to listen to our refrain of "Say No to Feisty Liberal Moderators." On Friday, RNC spokesman Sean Spicer talked to Newsmax TV host Steve Malzberg after the RNC voted to change the rules to include more conservative moderators in the primaries.

Spicer noted the obvious: “ For too long, it’s been the media that’s decided when we’re going to debate, who is going to be in the debate, what questions are going to be asked, what subjects are going to be forward....As we all know, the liberal media does not have the interest of the party at hand . . . You should not just have left-wing, liberal moderators asking questions of our candidates and determining that.”

We don’t own any networks. I have been saying for years that the rich conservatives need to buy one but they seem to be not interested. The only network that could work would be Fox News, but that is not a major network. NBC, CBS, ABC are the major networks.

some? How about all the GOP debates should be moderated by conservatives and half the Presidential debates?

I am sick of the left and their getting their way all the time.

oh, it had a lot to do with the presidential race. It was the opening salvo of their “war on women” nonsense.

He and Crowley should never ever be allowed to moderate another debate where Republicans are involved.

I don’t believe in intra-party debates, I don’t believe it helps the eventual nominee.

Republicans should insist all debates, both primary and general take place on Fox. It has the largest cross section of veiwers.

Moderators are Brett Baier, Greta and Megyn.

It won’t do the RNC much good, actually. Most of what they are offering up aren’t much more conservative than the Dims.

I completely disagree. Softball questions and all you do is preach to the choir. That doesn’t work. Pick someone that is the middle (wherever that is) and just avoid the extreme Leftists.

A debate CJ gets you nowhere.

Bret Baier and Megyn Kelly Domestic Policy

Britt Hume & Catherine Herridge Foreign Policy

I agree. Was going to post Brit Hume and Bret Baier myself, and Megyn would be a good option also, as would Catherine on foreign policy. I think Charles Krauthammer and George Wills on foreign policy would be good too.

I’m not sure Rush was capable of moderating the way he was hearing with just his original cochlear implant. I don’t know whether the additional help EIB provides him would be workable in that format. However one may hope he’ll improve enough with the addition of his second implant to where he might become capable. Talent on loan from God’s tech.

The fact that RINO’s, Neo-Cons, Paleo-Cons, Evangelicals, Libertarians, and Constitutionalists can create a political coalition is nothing short of a miracle.

A coalition, maybe, but not a winning one lately. I'm already seeing the wheels come off the wagon for Fall. I predict the Democrats will probably hold the Senate if current trends continue.

...he decided to put something out there, which has no bearing on a presidential race.

***
But it did have bearing on the leftist agenda; it was a deliberate set-up for the shenanigans that led up to the Sandra Fluke business. Little Georgie does what he is told.

Charles Krauthammer and George Wills tag team vs Rachel Maddow & Chrissy Matthews that would be an epic Presidential questioned debate with Follow up questions to candidate all around.

Rush and Hannity are certainly MORE objective than Candy Crowley or any of the other hard left so-called journalists

I’d LOVE to see Levin moderate a debate..

I’d pay to see it.

Problem is, he’d likely hand both sides their asses and end up elected himself..

I am having a hard time seeing the down side to that.

You've identified the fatal flaw of so-called conservatism: it doesn't speak with one voice while the Left is unified.

The left is a collection of interest and victim groups. They aren't truly that unified. What they are, particularly of late, is very careful to protect their "moderates". So long as said "moderate" votes for the Democrat as leader, they will put up with Manchin, Landrieu, Pryor, etc. The left leadership will let those folks go off the reservation on all but the most key and leadership votes. They know those seats should be ours, so they'll protect what their base consider DINO's in order to keep their party in contention or power. The left is much more strategic electorally and they think long term about "transforming" the nation. For them politics is an article of faith, so they'll never stop fighting and using whatever tactics are necessary to seize/retain power.

As you point out, our side is very divided. Worse, our factions don't put that division aside at critical moments where liberals are willing to do just that.
