So how in your estimation just how many people would have to die or get severally ill to equal your paycheck?

Not my paycheck, I don’t travel there, besides, at my payscale, it would probably be a couple mules worth.

Still no idea on who will pay for all of this? Seems it would have to be the govt, and we freepers know we don’t want more govt spending...right?

Don’t know, but since the govt would end up paying for all the quarantine costs, they probably have a figure.

If you do business there you need to pick up some of the cost. There are legitimate cost pertaining to securing our borders quarantines are part of those cost.

But how about you answer my question how many deaths would be acceptable to avoid quarantine? How many people are you willing to let die or get severally ill before a quarantine can be established?

Come on give us a answer.

Quarantine has always been a cost of doing business elsewhere.

The time and monetary cost has always been a part of the calculus of whether a trip makes economic sense.

It is no less a factor than deciding whether you want to put up with a TSA cavity search, or drive to your destination.

I believe that our early ancestors became tribal and sought relative isolation under pressure from epidemic disease.

With the looming failure of antibiotics and everybody trading body fluids extinction, sooner than later, seems more than likely.

Personally, zero. It wouldn’t bother me if the govt picked up the tab, but I’m not the one paying for it. I bet it would be really expensive though.

TSA would probably be the agency that runs the quarantine.

I agree with you a business who sends their people overseas to where such outbreaks are occurring need to weigh the cost an be responsible enough to incur those cost if the plan on doing business there.

Government employees, contractors and military personnel could easily be housed in temporary camps set-up at at military facilities. Actually I think that the best place would be to setup a quarantine camp in Saudi a not even allow anyone to board a plane out until they are cleared. Its a long trip from Saudi to anywhere and no tell how many people would be exposed.

I am sure the CDC has a SWAT team to guard the camp. ;-)

As a govt contractor, we are required to live off the local economy when we travel, this is true for our govt people also, as we draw per diem. We are not easily housed on base. The only thing we get to do on base, is go to work. There are some bases around the world that allow contractors to use the exchanges, but this is determined by the SOFA agreement of that country. We do not have access to military health facilities.

LOL!

Me thinks he protest to much.

You will be in quarantine? What do you think that means you get to go shopping? You are in quarantine! You will most likely be housed under the eyes of the CDC. Other than Medical personnel and limited support staff you will pretty much be limit to the facility. It quarantine, maybe you should look it up.

That’s what it’s all about, money.

Like the airlines and govenrment who taxes them for $...They don’t care if it’s spread, as they knew full well this last Saudi who went to Florida had been exposed to it where he worked in SA. Similar to the airlines dusting people who live near airports with their jet fuel exhaust 24/7.

In the end, they just don’t care as long as their profits and $ flow continues...
