"If there's one thing that will get your point across and persuade the general public to support your cause, it's driving a bunch of ATVs through Native American ruins and burials.
That seems to be the logic used by anti-Bureau of Land Management, pro-Cliven Bundy protestors who drove ATVs through a Utah canyon trail where motorized vehicles are banned. The rally was organized by Phil Lyman who, believe it or not, is actually a commissioner of San Juan county, home of Recapture Canyon. Hundreds of years ago, it was also home to the Puebloans, as evidenced by the ruins of their homes dug into the canyon rock. It is currently on federal land."

Yahoo is nothing but a pack of Liberal Propagandists. Exactly no consideration should be given to their latest liberal diatribe.
Well, whoever it was ruined some ruins. Huh?
Another lying, ignorant leftist reporter. Just trying to stir up trouble.

Apparently thinking that a back east bureaucracy should loosen its hold on half the land area in the West make you a “Bundy supporter”
Apparently riding an ATV on a county rode is roughly the same as doing donuts in a archaeological dig site.

“”If there’s one thing that will get your point across and persuade the general public to support your cause, it’s driving a bunch of ATVs through Native American ruins and burials.”
So...50 years ago they built a road over those burial grounds? That is what they drove on, a road that the BLM had closed for no known reason.
The media lies.
but neither I nor Free Republic ever lies. The truth is found at Free Republic.
Not a fan of ATVs or indians or big government.
Your first two dislikes might make you even less popular around here than big government.
Why do people get all up in a fuss over some broken pottery laying around to the point that it is illegal to drive near it or on it.
If you think about it many of those sacred sites are where ancient people discarded crap they weren’t using anymore. We call them landfills nowadays.
There is a big rock out this way called Independence Rock it has thousands of names and dates scratched into it by various people over the years. People recording their part of history while they were crossing Wyoming to settle the West.
We can’t do that anymore because it is a Federal crime. We have given Government permission to log our history for us it is stored on NSA computers and on numerous forms scattered through the files of the Fedgov.
You know the road doesn't go directly over burials because the BLM and Indians still allow mountain bikes to use the road.
This “Native American burial site” crap has been around since Wounded Knee. First of all, most Plains indians didn’t bury their deadh they left them on scaffolds to be picked clean by the crows. And where burial was common, since the indians didn’t recognize any boundaries, they buried their fallen wherever was convenient. Therefore, ANY place could be a “burial site.”
So this is just another lie by the fascists in charge.
Have got less of a figua of a figus!
I know that, everyone paying attention knows that. The MSM’s LIVs don’t though.
And, the Allies bombed centuries-old historic sites in Europe during WWII. War is war. Live with it.
Obama? Bush closed the road in 2007.
Most likely you are sitting and reading from your tablet over Indian burial grounds right now. If you are in North America.
