The Koch s donate much to conservative causes, and perhaps they influence plicy to this degree, opening the borders, the subject at hand.

Can you imagine what our politics would look like now, if they'd been taken seriously?

I have to come believe that this is exactly what is happening. And it's why regardless of any "immigration reform" the enforcement part will somehow never get implemented.

Nothing has changed in decades, at least in Californicator land.
About twenty years ago, I took early retirement, and my CPA advised me not to work the first year due to part of my retirement being basically a year’s salary, plus getting a pension, paid for vacation time earned and not taken.
So besides my wife’s never ending Honey Do List, volunteer work and fishing, I actually tried shopping a few times during Monday through Friday, when the rest of America was working.
The lack of crowds was nice, but in a day or so, I realized that in many stores, I was the only English speaking guy. The clerks were Hispanic and a lot of the customers were Hispanic women. That was basically the same pattern in the 4 counties I shopped at.
So I asked a few of my neighbors what was happening. Two owned businesses and one was an exec with the CC.
I was informed that was the new reality and that was keeping the independent businesses alive in my town and other near by cities. The Hispanics were customers and clerks at the stores. One neighbor, who owned a luxury car dealership, told me that a large # of the car dealers in the area would go broke as if there weren’t illegals here to buy used cars and to do cheap labor at the dealers.
This wasn’t the big corporations, doing this. It was the so called backbone of America, the mom and pop independent business owners.
The CC is pro Amnesty for customers, cheap labor to wait on the new Hispanic customers, and for the cheap labor to clean up their homes, businesses and other personal property.
This pattern is probably the same across America, and it is why the CC is pro wide open borders and Amnesty on their terms.
This is one of the main reasons that I shop and buy so much on line. My computer speaks English, and I owe nothing to so many of the local CC’s business owners.
The Chamber of Crony capitalism is a supporter of big business, not supporters of small business. I say to the C of CC FU, you aren’t for America.

Probably very much the same as it is now; while we’re only seeing the millions of Asians arrive now (between India & Red China, to replace Anglo white-collar workers), the powers that be instead simply sequestered the blacks on welfare reservations 50 years ago and replaced them with Hispanics.
It may be that corn and soybeans do not require much manual labor.
