$2 million lawsuit.
Problem solved. She can then buy an new gun.
Won’t happen in that county again, as they will have a new sheriff at nest election.
I believe that Colorado got exactly the outcome that they wanted. They confiscated a gun from a law abiding citizen who will never get it back. That’s a victory and they will work diligently to achieve more such victories. The only recourse is to turn out both the Governor and the Legislature.
Seems to me she’s got a case against the EMTs for petty theft.
Tim Masters and David Lane just took 10 million from those idiots.. I am hoping she will file against them very soon.

Lawsuits are fun but they don’t solve much. Even after they got caught sending an innocent man to prison (and getting sued big) Fort Collins police haven’t been held accountable and haven’t learned their lesson. If the sheriff’s office did crap like this you bet we would have a new sheriff but city police are run by unaccountable bureaucrats that don’t care how much tax payer money has to go out in settlements
Pfl
Ft. Collins is an idiot liberal college town. I really feel bad for people who have to live in Colorado when it’s now being run by complete morons. Colorado has attracted good talented people for a long time, but it also attracted stupid trust-funders, and they’re the ones drawn to political power.
I sure hope that gun isn’t involved in a crime while it is out of the owner’s possession.
Actually the Sheriff is a good guy there. He stood out in front of the Ft Collins high school in 0 degree temperature waving the American Flag in protest of school. He is one of the 55 Sheriffs sued the state over the gun legislation.
We don’t want a new sheriff in Larimer county.
Option D is what I’ve been saying since day one. There’s no excuse.
Why is there a police department that seems to be extra-constitutional? Seems pretty shady for a county which would otherwise elect someone respectful of natural rights.
I don’t think the Ft. Collins City police are elected.
Exactly why i said it seems shady for a county which would otherwise elect yadda yadda.
Colorado ping.
Here’s some additional information not in the article:
1. It’s a simple matter to transfer the gun back to Warren legally through any Colorado FFL.
2. The Fort Collins police department is sitting on several other guns that they have illegally stolen under a variety of similar circumstances and have refused to give any of them back.
3. The anti-gun City Attorney threatened to charge the Police Chief with illegal transfer under the new state laws even if he LEGALLY transferred any of the guns back to their rightful owners.
4. In Warren’s case, when the hospital employee took her gun, and every time that gun was handed from person to person thereafter, under Colorado law, an illegal transfer took place, AND the City Attorney chose to ignore ALL of those illegal transfers.
5. As a consequence of the Reporter-Herald’s article, all of the guns stolen by the police department are scheduled to be given back.
6. As a consequence of Warren’s tenacious perseverance and the attendant publicity, the Fort Collins police department has changed their policy to no longer steal the firearms of private citizens, but confiscate a gun only if it the possessor is being arrested for a crime involving that gun.
Colorado Ping ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
Thanks for the update. In this case the gun grabbers resorted to outright theft, although they are covering up for each other, of course.
