Jackson (United States) (AFP) - Jim Feltner's days are empty. He is a poor man in the poorest county in the United States and lives off government aid. But the Kentucky resident has nothing but scorn for the head of that government, President Barack Obama, who has made the fight against economic inequality one of his battle cries.
Feltner sits in a plastic chair outside his ramshackle mobile home, surrounded by rusty cars and car parts. He has no television.
People around here, he says, are "just surviving, barely. I know, because I'm one of them."
A victim of two heart attacks, he lives off disability checks, and $105 a month in government food stamps.
Feltner voted for a previous Democratic president, Bill Clinton, but now says: "I will vote for anybody against Obama.
"I don't care who runs against him, I'll vote for him. I don't care if it's a Democrat, a Republican, an Indian, a Pakistani, even a Frenchman!"
The first reason is coal. He accuses Obama of dooming this mining region of the Appalachian mountains with environmental regulations. Since 2011, 30 percent of the mining jobs -- around 4,000 -- in the region have vanished. Competition from natural gas is another factor in the decline.
"Here's what he said about the coal business: 'go ahead, build your coal fired energy plants, we will shut them down,'" Feltner alleged.
"Is that something for a president to say?," he added. "He's got a problem with the poor people."

Obama isn’t running any more.
I truly fear it is too late now to turn back. Too many either work for the government or suck off it's tit. Too few are actually producing something, and their numbers fall daily. Too much debt. Too much money being printed.
I fear Obama and his ilk have won. Stay safe.
Waiting to see the paradox the MSM 'thinks' they've uncovered......wairing......[crickets]......
The measure of a man is what he does with power. ~Plato
or is he?
Barack isn’t but who’s to say Moo-chelle won’t?
btw I can officially say the following and not be proved wrong: Barack Obama is dead. Ted Kennedy is alive.
I didn’t say which ones...Barack Obama Sr is dead while
Edward “Ted” Kennedy Jr is alive...
Low income conservatives want a party that reflects their socially conservative values and provides either good jobs or a generous welfare state. Limo conservatives want a party that says nothing about social issues (gay marriage, abortion, et al), does not have a position on outsourcing and abolishes the welfare state. That's the essential divide in the GOP.
With an electoral college, there's no incentive to take the trouble to vote if your guy is gonna win the state. A nationwide presidential vote tally might provide that motivation. How it might affect party totals is an interesting question. I suspect more GOP voters might show up in the final tally, simply because Democrats already have the ballots rigged for their voters.
He has a big problem with people having freedom too.
This reads like the poor fella should be supporting Obama and the author doesnt understand why he doesnt.....
This is why they are called Low Information Voters.
They haven't a clue.
This guy should move to North Dakota and get a job.
As if his personal choices had nothing to do with causing those two heart attacks.
I wonder if he'll vote for Mitch?
OBAMA PRIORITIES:
1 - Remedy income equality
2 - Focus like a laser on job creation
3 - Shut down the coal industry and kill 1.1 million jobs
Yahoo decoder ring:
“Dems need to spend more bucks on voters in Kentucky”
4. Legalize the status of 11 to 20 million illegal aliens, double the guest worker programs to 1.4 million annually; and triple legal immigration over the next decade to 33 million.
The national popular vote tally would motivate a lot more dead voters to vote. Instead of the Democrats stealing a few of the large-electoral-vote states with fraud in the big cities, they would win every election with manufactured votes.
