Piling on rancher Bundy

For a few days, Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy was a heroic figure to a great many conservatives. Then, overnight, he became a pariah. There were some people, aside from Harry Reid, who suggested he should have to ring a little bell whenever he went out in public and announce his presence by repeating, “Unclean! Unclean!”

Now I grant that there was no good reason for him to open his yap about the urban blacks residing in North Las Vegas, just as there was no reason for those two Republican knuckleheads running for the Senate in 2012 to shoot off their mouths about rape.

But, aside from the fact that Mr. Bundy is not the most eloquent of speakers, what did he say that was so terrible? I mean, it’s not as if he spent three years lying about our being able to keep our doctors and our health insurance just so he could shove his disgusting signature piece of legislation down our throats.

Mr. Prelutsky usually has an interesting take on things. Mr. Bundy made his statements publicly where as Mr. Sterling made his in private converstion. Then again, I guess there is no such thing as a private conversation anymore. Old rules: If you don't want it repeated, don't say it. If you don't want it read, don't write it down. If you don't want it seen, don't take a picture of it.

My only “hero” is Jesus, but I still support Bundy in both what he has said and what he has done.

Sounds like someone saw Bundy's NYT edit.

If you really want to point out government overreach, you have to look no further than the nearest Social Services office. The tremendous societal destruction wrought there "for the children" has wrecked the family as a social institution in first black, and now a broader racial mix of society.

We decry the Government (Democrat) Plantation, but can't recognize the symptoms when someone points them out?

Bundy was spot-on about government overreach and the destruction wrought thereby, but people don't want the discomfort of realizing the programs set up to 'aid the poor' only keep them that way, because those programs absolved them of any responsibility for personal charity.

Besides, where else would all those Sociology and Social Work majors get a job when they graduate?

He’s fine. He’s not the most 100% gifted public speaker with regards to his choice of particular topics, but then again who of us is?
