Donetsk Gives Ukraine Troops 24 Hours To Retreat, Threatening Force

The Donetsk People's Republic has giving the Kiev government until 9 p.m. local time on Thursday to remove Ukrainian troops from the Donbass region, a spokesman said, threatening to oust them by force if the ultimatum expires.

The leaders of the Donetsk militia on Wednesday night gave authorities 24 hours, until 6 p.m. GMT, to vacate roadblocks in the region, news agency Interfax reported Thursday.

"Reconnaissance groups and sabotage groups are ready to go and some are already in position," militia deputy commander Sergei Zrilyuk said Thursday, RIA Novosti reported.

The group has enough resources to ensure "everything will be destroyed and burned," if the conditions are not met on time, Zrilyuk was quoted as saying.

NATO will NOT protect their partners [including Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia].

It had better.

If it does not, NATO will be effectively dead. And there will remain no deterrent to unfettered Russian revanchism and expansionism.

Don't put words in my mouth.

Here's what I said, and the point still stands.

If NATO can’t supply Europe with natural gas when Russia shuts off the pipelines, then it really has no relevance anymore.

Nothing?

Bill Clinton, is that you?

Or is it FreeReign wanting one thing for Kosovo, another for other regions of the world, so that hypocrisy prevails on “autonomy” votes.

I just want an all-encompassing rule on autonomy votes that is the same in all places.

No relativism, no hypocrisy...just absolute standards - which any true conservative would want.

The ~40 million people of Ukraine had nothing to do with Serbia. And it's pretty sick to think one should punish the Ukrainian people because Bill Clinton was wrong in Kosovo.

Bill Clinton, is that you?

Gee let's see. I call Bill Clinton wrong and you respond by saying, "Bill Clinton, is that you?".

You're comment is utterly stupid.

I said “Bill Clinton, is that you?” because you try to play it both ways, whether you realize it and accept this - or not.

If NATO can’t supply Europe with natural gas when Russia shuts off the pipelines, then it really has no relevance anymore.

If not for an idiotic law favored by President Obama, the US could supply that natural gas.

The fundamental problem, of course, is Europe's having placed itself in a position of dependency upon Moscow in the first place...

If what you said were true (which it isn’t) it would be like the pot calling the kettle black.

You're the one who put words in my mouth saying that I was being like Clinton and that I wanted it both ways.

That, even though I had said that I thought Clintons actions wrong.

How utterly stupid can you be to persist.

It's like I'm posting to a 8th grader.

Back in post #13, you posted TWO lines under the italicized line which I wrote - the lines that you copied.

On line two you say that Clinton was wrong in Kosovo, in line one you said that Ukraine had nothing to do with Serbia. (Kosovo was part of Serbia).

And that is where you were wrong. You can’t have it both ways.

If the people of Ukraine are being punished it is because of Clinton - the U.S. cannot have a foreign policy that says we will make things up as we go along.

As I pointed out earlier, there is no justification for the punishment of Ukrainians by Putin and the Russians. The Ukrainian people had nothing to do with Kosovo. Putin should not be involved with Ukraine.

The Ukrainian people weren't at fault for Kosovo.

Bill Clinton was.

Punish him.

We, unfortunately, are left with Clinton’s legacy.

Clinton cannot be punished - which he could be when running for reelection. He isn’t now, nor will ever seek an office or a reelection. So, too late for what you are calling for.

But, we can take his foreign policy stance - making the Kosovo vote legal - and adopt that for all countries?

We have to remain un-hypocritical, right?

Being un-hypocritical transcends time and location. You don’t want to be a hypocrite, right?

Three points.

First, I'm for fair voting for self determination.

Second, whatever policies a corrupt administration carried out in the past will never be a factor in what policies I am for today. Anything short of that is unprincipled and disrespecting of inalienable rights.

Third, being consistently principled and respecting inalienable rights is what makes one non hypocritical.

Being un-hypocritical transcends time and location.

No, being true to principle and inalienable rights is what transcends time and location.

You don’t want to be a hypocrite, right?

And of course I'm not. You don't what to be unprincipled and disrespectful to inalienable right do you?
