Obama camp angry, embarrassed over 2009 Nobel Prize: official

A senior Norwegian diplomat says his country's former ambassador to the United States was given a verbal lashing by Barack Obama's chief of staff when the president was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009.
Morten Wetland said Thursday the ambassador, Wegger Stroemmen, was approached by Rahm Emanuel, now Chicago's mayor, who accused Norway of "fawning" to the newly elected U.S. leader.
Wetland, the Norwegian ambassador to the United Nations at the time, told The Associated Press he did not witness the dressing down but said there was an air of embarrassment in Washington that Obama had been given the award so early in his presidency.

Nah, the Nobel was a joke since at least '94 when Arafat got one. Obama may have burned a lot of things to the ground, but this time he just showed up to pee in the ashes.
My late dad used to say 10,000 Swedes, running thru the weeds, being chased by one Norwegian.
Also, a Swede got a haircut and the barber said that will be $8. Eight dollars? Kinda expensive ain't it? How you figure that price? Barber said I charge $2 per side.
The middle east is still a mess, Africa is, Russia is on the move, and China is flexing its muscles in the Pacific. I see it as a tinder box not more stable.
IT was really one of the worst things that could have happened to Obama.

I don’t believe this for one minute. Obama could’ve have turned down the award. Secondly, Obama has no shame or embarassment. Not an issue.
