Rush Limbaugh, the conservative radio commentator who is a kind of a boogeyman to liberals, was honored Wednesday night with a childrens book award.
Limbaugh won the Author of the Year prize in the Childrens Choice Book Awards for his book Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims: Time-Travel Adventures with Exceptional Americans.
In accepting the award, Limbaugh was typically combative (if somewhat more subtly than usual standards).
I love America. I wish everybody did, he said. I hope everybody will. It's one of the most fascinating stories in human history ... and it's a delight and it's an opportunity to try to share that story with young people so they can grow and learn to love and appreciate the country in which they're growing up and will someday run and lead and inherit.

It’s why Rush declined to appear on Good Morning America shortly after the book was released. He knew that they would make it about him, rather than about the book.
Look, my kid loved that book, and he hates reading. He is special Ed and he loved the horse Liberty. I agree that there were proofing errors but I didn’t know about this vote nor have my kid vote. But it was a fun book and we will get the next one. He will never learn this stuff in school - how unique the beginnings of America were. Go, Rush!
But take the ad for your tea out of the book; that’s a little classless.
Can’t wait to see the liberals reaction to Rush Limbaugh winning a non-partisan, non-political award, for an area of life which is strictly non-political.
Bravo Rush!

Rush needs to create a new flavor of drink just for Liberals.
Sour Grape Iced Tea

"I love America and wish everyone else did as much as me" is what the LATimes considers "combative"? Good grief, have they become unhinged.
Hector Tobar may be uninformed,or just "mean spirited".
You are far too kind with these fools, far too kind.
“Unhinged?” You have now realized that?
“Combative” to MSNBC and their minions is any statement which speaks positively of the United States and/or its founders. Listen to the acceptance again in this light and he will come at you like the D-Day Invasion. It is the lens tinting of their world view.
Post of the decade!
Let the heads of the MSM explode. It is great that Rush got this award for great work.
I think I understood it academically, but was unprepared for the full reality of the thing . . .
It’s projection.
Mooch goes to the VA and talks to them like she appreciates them so do all her people and no one ever did before.
BUULLECh!
Thanks, LAT. That was a fair article. Who won the award last
year? Did you find a snarky editor to dis that book, too?
And, let me guess.......it wasn’t Mrs Limbaugh who chose
the Rush photo you used, was it?
Rush, Congratulations. Those book are a great read. Hope more will come out especially about the Dems, KKK and JimCrow and having Rush Revere telling kids that it was the Dems who kept blacks from succeeding.
Congrats Rush.
