I can remember the Dems trying to impeach Reagan for violating one of their crazy laws during Iran-Contra. Our pubbies are so toothless. They have to be in on the scam.

The government doesn't eat its own cooking. It eats Wagyu steak. Shut up, and pay.

stop working as much as you can. spend as little as possible. remove as much money from the system as you can

your wallet is the only power you have. including withholding it

Keep dreaming.

Tyrants cannot be voted out of office - fact of history.

They can only be removed by force or the threat of force.

And the Ruling Class have nothing whatsoever to fear - so they act as tyrants do… with impunity.

Congress can act. It can immediately rescind all or most funding for the EPA.

Sounds like the votes are there, even in the Senate. Put it to the vote and make Manchin, Landreau, et al., vote.

Boehner and McConnell and Rinos won’t do this, because, despite the verbal protests, they are in on it.

Ironic there is a PEPCO coal fired electrical power plant about 2 miles from the US Capitol building. Coal cars line the railroad tracks in DC.

Take a glance at the story. At no point does it say what the rule would actually require. Nor does it tell how many plants may close or what the cost impacts are likely to be. Par for the course for modern “reporting.”

OK!! Everybody pay attention!

Lesson for today:

1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.

2. The sun is a ball of fire that controls the climates of all its planets.

3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.

4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.

5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.

Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

Worse yet, power plants are not private (thank you, FDR) and are controlled by Public Utility Commissions (PUC's - pronounced "pukes").

As such, they so really don't care about costs because they don't have to.

ObamaCare has turned private health insurance into PUC's as well.

I don't mean to criticize you but the EPA is only and administrative agency, within the executive branch. The executive branch/EPA executes/administrates the legislation/laws that Congress enacts. In this case the Clean Air Act.

There were environmental laws before there was an EPA, they were administered by other agencies. EPA was created because environmental laws and regs were expanding.

Just like BLM administrates the Federal Land and Policy Management Act, which was enacted by Congress in 1976.

Just like Congress enacted the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Administration was created the to administer the Act.

You can do away with these agencies but the laws/legislation are still on the books.

And as often is the case, disputes arise as to how the agency interpretes the legislation and/or how they administer the regulations so lawsuits arise and the courts adjudicate and change/clarify.

As Muddog pointed out, SCOTUS ruled that CO2 was a pollutant and told EPA to investigate the risk/threat of CO2 and if necessary, regulate CO2 within the Clean Air Act.

Both Bush and Obama pushed Congress to pre-empt the president and enact legislation regulating CO2. In 2008 Congress had the big debate and Cap and Trade won out over Cap and Tax. They tried to enact cap and trade in 2009 but that failed so the Senate tried a scaled back version in 2010 but that also failed, after which EPA moved forward first on new facilities and as yet existing facilities.

When there is a conservative president, he is going to need to appoint a “hatchet-man” cabinet, to facilitate the downgrade of all these out of control agencies.

The conservative congress will need to pass a law about dismissing federal employees, since likely hundreds of thousands of them will need to be dismissed (out of about 2.7 million (non-military) of them.) Since it is easier to close an entire branch of an agency than to dismiss individually, they will probably use this route. They might even transfer deadwood to a branch that is to be closed.

And each cabinet officer will also be tasked in discerning and rooting out those agency employees who abused their authority, so that they can be banned from future government employment, or non-retirement benefits.

And congress will also need to carry out reforms of the federal judiciary, both to reorganize and purge the below average federal judges.

Very informative post!

You've filled in a lot of the details I didn't know. And that's where the devil usually is.

You are so right. When they had a couple million folks marching on DC, that would’ve been the time to use force, NOT show them how many people can “beg” to be heard (”Can you hear us now?” “Um, yeah, but we don’t care”). Send new folks - I don’t care how clean they appear to be - into DC, and they’ll be absorbed into the corrupted system within one term. We don’t need any new laws - we have basic laws that can cover any circumstance now - so why are they there? They can stay home and do govt biz via video once per year and the locals can keep their eye on them.

Good point. The endeavor would be difficult, as Ted Cruz found out. But the power of the purse wielded by the House is real - or we cease to have any chance of freedom. If the agency is starved for money, they can’t administer anything, harrass anyone, or determine any wrongdoing.
