Saw this in 3D last night...

Classic Godzilla destroying cities while protecting the human race. Notable and refreshing was that there was no obvious ecobullshit “anthropogenic climate change” agenda, or that somehow man needs to suffer some consequence for offending “Mother Earth Gaia” or whatever. Similarly, there was no homofascist “equality or else” spin, race hustling or otherwise leftist political motivation in the film. Just a good old fashioned Monster vs. Monster movie. Audience was cheering for Godzilla... good flick.

Recommended.

Agreed. This was a return to the classic Godzilla monster flicks and even took a stab at the enviro-types when Ken Watanabe’s character chided about the arrogance of man believing that they could control nature.

I really enjoyed when the Big Guy let loose with his Mk1 Mod0 breath weapon. The glowing of his spines was beautiful.

Truly enjoyed the film and a must buy when it hits Bluray.

I guess I found the answer to my question about if the Blue Oyster Cult song "Godzilla" was included in the 2014 film Godzilla. I'm still shaking my head as it appears it WASN'T used yet again. I just don't get it. If ever there was a song perfectly made for a movie (with the same name) it is the song Godzilla.

Godzilla: Blue Oyster Cult’s ‘Godzilla’ song still rocks

The scene when the plates on Godzilla’s back started to fluoresce, was what everyone paid to see. The crowd reaction when the glow started up from the tail was interesting... like they collectively were about to orgasm.

I hope I’m not the only one with this opinion; I really hate parting with my hard earned $ to pay this mostly dumb as a door knocker Marxist actors, directors and producers for their “save the planet” movies. Spiderman...the new one, had no fewer than 7 Marxist planted strong messages and images...the Che Guevera(sp?)-like poster in the star’s bedroom, the corporate demon boss, the assault rifle hitting the bad guy on his head in slow mo...the bad buy is bald (skinhead imagery)...the list goes on. Screw H-wood.

Bring me part III...Who is John Galt?

There was one scene in the film where the son had to bail his dad out of jail and prior to his dad coming out from lockup, a Jananese goth weirdo looking teenaged kid was released to his irate Japanese mother and father... and the father started to yell at the punk.

As soon as they showed the kid with his spiked up hair, eyeliner, piercings, and Hot Topic reject fashion, the audience collectively snickered, rejecting what hollyweird would otherwise wish to portray as some “new normal” and use the moment as a forced exercise in tolerating alternative lifestyles.

Happy to see it was more used as a comedic jab at ridiculousness.

From what I’ve gathered from reading all of the reviews and spoilers (I won’t see Godzilla until it’s out on iTunes -I hate theaters), it’s more about the MUTOS waking up and Godzilla follows to destroy them before they became a worse problem for the planet.

The ‘90s Gamera movies did almost the exact same thing. Gamera/Godzilla didn’t seem to give a crap about the humans. They were focused on the destruction of their prey: MUTOS/Gyaos.
