WASHINGTON Surgery patients covered by Medicaid arrive at the hospital in worse health, experience more complications, stay longer and cost more than patients with private insurance, a new study has found.
The study, by researchers at the University of Michigan, may offer a preview of what to expect as millions of uninsured people qualify for Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act.

When you don’t have to pay for your own insurance, what incentive do you have to stay healthy so you don’t have to use it often?
Who the heck would want to be disabled ?
“Who the heck would want to be disabled ? “
Leeches with free ‘Bama’ phones? Leeches who don’t want to work? Leeches who vote “democrap”?
The list is endless.
No, not disability for ‘fun & profit’ on the plantation, I mean the ‘drag a tank of oxygen around on your scooter ‘ disabled.
Predictable outcome of government run health care, of course. There is NO evidence that government intervention in ANY industry leads to efficiencies or improved outcomes.
Only the libtards continue to believe that the solution to every issue or problem (real or imagined) is MORE GUBMINT.
People who don't buy medical insurance often have a whole different set of priorities than those who do. Many also choose to not work, as well. They have made the decision that they will give up the benefits of working in order to avoid the liabilities of working. Many spend whatever available money they can get on booze, drugs and cigarettes instead of more healthy pursuits. Many times, this is the root cause of their problems with illnesses, not the lack of insurance.
Death panels; the Feds want to forgo them and just euthanize those pesky citizens that are using up all the funds they can’t use to pay for stupid art endowment grants and payoff warlords overseas to help their thriving drug business.../s
I’ve seen real poverty in my life.In East Africa I’ve seen a little black kids with orange hair, big bellies and little stick legs.I’ve seen poverty in India as well. And I’ve see lazy a$$ fat tubs of lard here in the US.But there’s no way that I’ll call them “poor”.
LOL .guess Obummer’s Lefties don’t read British books. A common joke is the malingerers who don’t want to leave the hospitals and squat there, further gumming up the works. That may be changing, now that the NHS is so horrible that even the squatters don’t want to be “in hospital”.
“Death panels; the Feds want to forgo them and just euthanize those pesky citizens that are using up all the funds...”
If the Feds think about it, this won’t happen...this is their voter base!
From the SLIMES?
“If the Feds think about it, this wont happen...this is their voter base!”
And those dead “voters” will still be voting.
You do not understand..... disabled is a legal term of art that allows those labeled “disabled” to receive free stuff.
The unemployment roles have diminished largely because many were labeled “disabled” and switched from one form of free stuff to another.
It has nothing to do with how capable they are
That’s a big reason the unemployment rate in Ohio has dropped to 5.7%. We’ve not a lot more jobs, just a smaller labor force.

Well AFTER their usefulness has expired...: )
The Medicaid patients I care for more often than not simply don’t show up for surgery or appointments. What costs you nothing you value at nothing.
It’s not just that. I have a cousin who has a now 18 year old daughter who became pregnant and had her baby at 17. She’s on Medicaid. Cousin and I were talking the other day and she was telling me that when daughter was big and pregnant she took her to the hospital 20 times because she “hurt”. Not kidding.
Even with what they are calling insurance this girl still used the hospital emergency room for regular doctor visits.

That is quite the broad brush you are painting with there.
Current administration policy is destroying the economy to the point where proud, able bodied individuals have been sidelined, forced to consume all savings, liquidate investments, foreclose on their homes etc. just to survive. The toll this takes on families is enormous and costly not only in monetary terms but in emotional and physical ways as well...a domino effect. Under these circumstances caused by the "hope & change "wealth redistribution" administration's policies - it has become a very different "America, land of opportunity".
What difference will the ‘voter base’ ultimately matter to islamists?
