A mother in Australia who LifeNews previously profiled as preparing to give birth to conjoined twins who share one body but have two faces has finally given birth after refusing to have an abortion.
Renee Young and Simon Howie of Sydney said that a routine ultrasound found problems with their babys development and that the twins they were expecting were actually conjoined twins with a rare medical condition. The twins has a condition known as diprosopus, or craniofacial duplication, a condition whereby parts or all of the face are duplicated on the head. It is so rare, according to a report on the couple and their babies, that just 35 cases have been recorded in humans and no one is alive today who has it.
The parents rejected the suggestion of abortion, saying every day they get with their daughter, who may die shortly after birth, is a blessing.

“Only in America would the butchers say this should have been aborted.”
As I thought about your epistolary eloquence it DAWNED on me that you ARE "Fantasy WRITER."
Duh! :o)
What a great story

Wow, so many things to think about with this. Each of us is a trinity of soul, mind and body. With the mind/brain being the mechanism that connects our soul to our body. Yet here is a body with two minds joined at the same brain stem. One would think because there are two minds/brains that there must be two souls, each connected to the same body. Or is there one soul connected to the body by two minds/brains? Time will tell. I did read there is a 10 year old boy(boys?) with this condition of a second face, though it was not clear whether or not he has or they have two minds/brains. Anyway, it seems he/they is/are subject to hundreds of mini seizures every day of his life. What a sad existence. He even died on two different occasions and was brought back. I can’t imagine anyone living in a condition of constant seizure. I hope and pray whatever happens with Faith & Hope they always know God’s grace, comfort and acceptance.
I’ve often wondered what an disagreements and spats between the Hensel twins were like when they were growing up. They couldn’t get away from one another nor could their parents separate them as parents do when kids fight. They seem like very nice well adjusted young women. Yet as a mom, I wonder if one was angry with the other and bit the arm controlled by the other, would both feel it? I can’t imagine. Now with these little ones, it seems even more unimaginable. At least Abby & Brittany can glance at each other, maybe even turn somewhat to look at each other face to face, but these little ones will never see each other that way, except maybe on camera video. It will be interesting to see what happens. Prays go out for them and their family.
**I am in awe of their goodness**
Ditto! One can see it in the faces and eyes. They have nothing but love for these babies.
Yes. I can’t imagine!
Nevertheless, if she killed them, and never repented, she would to go hell.
“Only in America”?
There are about 1.2 million abortions a year in America. There are about 50 million abortions around the world each year—aggressively promoted, and subsidized, by the U.S. government and the U.N.
Wow.
I’ve seen Abby and Brittany asked about how they walk and run. They were fairly inarticulate about it. They didn’t seem to be clear at all about who controls which leg.
“Nevertheless, if she killed them, and never repented, she would to go hell.”
Why bring this up here? It doesn’t sound like the mother even thought about abortion, like any other mother she wanted to have her babies.
I think their body is so intertwined that they can't really express who controls which leg. They are two girls, but the body functions for both. A normal person couldn't explain how we control walking. It just happens.
