MOSCOW -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has said his country's cooperation with China has reached its all-time best and that the two sides were ready to expand ties in numerous spheres.

"China is our reliable friend. To expand cooperation with China is undoubtedly Russia's diplomatic priority," Putin told Chinese reporters before attending the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) slated for Tuesday and Wednesday in Shanghai.

Putin, who will also pay a state visit to China on the sidelines of the summit, said he and Chinese President Xi Jinping will review the implementation of already-signed agreements, and hammer out future objectives.

"I believe the upcoming talks will inject strong impetus to various bilateral cooperation projects, as well as to the deepening of coordination between the two countries in the international arena," he said.

Putin pointed out that at the present stage the two countries should give priority to enhancing cooperation in economy, science and high technology.

Against the backdrop of global economic turbulence, it was of crucial significance for the two countries to strengthen mutually beneficial economic and trade relations and boost mutual investment, he said.

Imagine, two COMMUNIST countries expanding ties,
why, it’s unprecidented, how unexpected...

They seem to have us on the run.

I don’t think Paul will be looking very good in foreign policy, by 2016.

Yes, amazing isn't it? Like no one could have figured this out, without Chinese news telling us about it.

America needs to bring back production to America.

Just saying.

We import (far) too much from China.

You are probably right. Like other things, he will probably say he heard about it on the news, or read it in the paper. He is not living in reality.

If Putin thinks this will keep China, with its huge population and expansionist tendencies, from being a threat to eastern Russia, with its small population and long border, more power to him. I have my doubts.

Putin is stark raving mad. The only nation on the planet that has serious designs on his, and he seeks to play pati-cake with it.

The guy can’t be unaware that the Chinese are occupying his Eastern territory, while he plays the fool in the West.

I know who he is. I know that he helped open up China.

At the time he did, it was an ace in the hole for us, as it played off the most populace nation on the planet, against a clear nuclear threat.

China was a closed society before that. It would take months for intel to get out. We didn’t know what was going on inside. Opening up the Bamboo Curtain was good.

It’s what took place around 1992, that took us down the road to where we are today. That was terrible policy, but it took place twenty years after Kissinger and Nixon made their move.

Twenty-two years later, and the subsequent leaders of the day, have gifted us with a serious well-financed global threat.

Kissinger opened the door. It’s those who walked through it that really jeopardized planetary safety.

MIRV technology, Gyro Technology, and Vibration reduction Technology...

China couldn’t accurately target our major cities. Bill through Loral Corporation made it possible for them to hit within 50 feet.
